How to unlock higher rarity weapons?

The highest rarity weapon available for me is 4. I defeated Teostra already :C I don't know what to do.

There is a giant how to progress message in the top right corner of your screen when you are not in a quest.

Which weapon are you talking about?
The only one I can think of that has a low rank max level like that is just the defender weapons.

Otherwise, you will have to do expeditions to grab all the mats, or hunt monsters you haven't hunted yet to obtain the progression of the weapon tree

if you can't access the next rarity, and your HR is 8+ which it sounds like it is, the reason the next upgrade for the weapon in question isn't showing up is because you're missing one of the materials required to make and reveal it. Nargacuga weapons do this with medullas for example

There are scroll left to right in menu weapon crafting, maybe you miss that (just like me lmao)

Keep accepting the quest and get access to higher level , one day you unlock the entire tree .
And yes , some also forgot about the directional button to move the weapon tree to the right....

Get to HR 100 and kill Valstrax, dude. Then you'll have the entire smorgasbord of weapons at your disposal to craft/upgrade.
