Bro, these Apex Emergency event quests.
Just finished Arzuros only to fine one for Rathian and Mizutsune on the next page. These have to be the hardest thing in the game. Even taking time to pick up a bunch of spiribirds, these guys will still just about one-shot you. Any tips?

Literally don't get hit, this is intentional. And the rewards they give are weak.

Equip a balanced petalace and power it following your favorite spirit bird route, pick up helpers and make sure to ride every monster in the area (it just takes a bit of mounting damage). Also, Valstrax set + divine protection lvl 3 will stop the one shots.

After a couple of hunts the cues for the most dangerous attacks become noticeable. They will also do repeated moves and delayed counters when the hunter uses the wirebugs to try and attack them, these are not pukey pukey's.

Also, use mega-armor boosts (juice + dust) and make sure your HP bar is just 79% but not lower.

Some think Apex monsters' high HP pool is "cheap" but they don't consider the insane amount of tools hunter have available to easily counter them. Very fun hunts, the one you unlock at the end of the lvl 7 quests (fighting 3 emergency Apexes at the Palace arena is my favorite event in the game, that Zinogre...)

They don't give you any memorable rewards though.

Try using defensive skills.
Def up, elemental def up, status resist, etc.
You can even use free meal and keep chugging potion while you learn its attack pattern and tell.
There is no shame in hunting defensively. Everyone has their first. What important is you cleared it.

If you have 25+ of an elemental resistance, you also can't be affected by it's blight. This can be really useful for enemies like Zinogre.

I find that as long as I pretty much fill up on green and orange birds I don't get 1-shot.

Cheese the crap out of it and make a sticky HBG build to stunlock.

Or just don't get hit.

I agree with this entirely.

If you have any intention of completing these (being the most challenging quests currently in the game), you have to be fully prepared to adapt your build and learn what your opponent is capable of. If you have the dedication, you'll find a way to handle it.

They have been the most engaging hunts in the game. Im pretty happy they decided to add them. And its great how they bring people together to figure out how to get past them.

All what you need to know how to handle them have been already mentioned. If you properly progressed you should have no issues at all. Make sure you properly respect the monsters and it will be fine ~
Counter cheap tactics with cheap tactics yourself.

if you want an easy time: lance + 3 pieces kushala set + guard 5 + recovery up 3 + gourmet fish.

Run Felyne Adrenaline + Moxie and Dragonheart for max deeps. If every hit oneshots you then it doesn't matter if you're at 10 HP or 150 HP (although it does matter if you're at 250 HP, but that's just too easy then).
Also don't use Defense up and whatnot, those skills are horrible, investing into Evade Window is a much better roi and boost to survivability than getting a ~5% damage reduction.

Play the game like it's turn based combat.
