Dragon Piercer can also sever tails
A decent dragon piercer does 500+ damage for example. A rapid fire opening combo does about 400 for me (if you open at lvl 3 charge), then you can keep the charge at level 4 and follow up with a aerial shot and do 750 roughly. If the monster is below you, you can follow up with a stab down and dodgebolt for an extra 200. The whole combo does about 1150-1350 damage. Or you can extend the combo near infinitely with dodging if you have stamina management builds and items.
The problem is dragon piercer doesn't benefit from end-game builds as much as just attacking and keeping your charge level at 4. Only deco that buffs it is one that can increase it's damage by 20%. Which just ain't worth running because dragon piercer is only worth using early to mid-game (when the bow's power shots are doing tickle damage and you don't have access to charge lvl 4 yet).
They even had to remove damaging arc shot in rise because of how stupidly broken it is.
Because arc shot is absolute garbage.
Get spread + slugger skill build in and you'll get those speed run strat.
A full charged rapid shot is 3x11.
One rapid does more damage than an entire arc shot.

Wow. Look at all that arc shot.
Wow. THREE arc shots!
And only at the end once he was out of power coatings because it's not worth wasting a power coat on.
And look! A whopping FIVE damage per tic!
SO MUCH DAMAGE!
