Palico or Palamute on multiplayer hunts?

What is your preference and why?

I used to only take palamutes but the more I play the more I see just how powerful the palicos are for support. What are your thoughts?

I don't really get why people make a big deal out of palicos taking gems
They have limited uses and eventually you'll have more than you could ever use

Ah... Feels like it took more than three weeks since PC release for the actual interesting questions to show up.

I mean that kind of stuff beyond what people consider meta.

I love every kind of Palico. While the Gatherer surely shine for the materials, I am also using the other types a lot. Especially when I was newer with the game and not sure if the Apexes were an actual threat.

Not checking out on the others is always such vast amount of untapped potential.

I am intrigued by the question since I do not have a certain answer yet. By logic it should stack. But I have not met a Hunting Horn user before who also uses a support Palico for that idea. Exquisite.

You are right about that. Still ~ the reason to celebrate the Palicoes for them getting gems is more born from the wishes of unlucky hunters. Having an extra chance for getting the desired gem or orb becomes more and more valuable the more often you try getting a desired item with no success. But by the end of the day it is most likely to result like that ~ at some point: why Gatherer Palico? Right now I have them with me since I am still fresh with the PC version and not having a satisfying talisman. The extra stuff my Palicoes are getting me are good for melding. That they bring so many gems home ~ is a bonus I am going to use to craft all kind of armours and weapons!
