What 's wrong with Rampage ( and Siege quest in general ) .
This type of quest is the weirdest of all , everyone want a quest in which you need to defend an objective from a monster , it is like the staple of Monster Hunter and sound dope af .

Until they execute it and from what i saw , many dislike Siege quest and now Rampage ,which is the fancier Siege Quest, also not gain much popularity despite being the driving force of MHR story .

Why though , we need it but we also hate it a lot . What does the Rampage quest lack and potential fix ?

simple: its a poor mans tower defense in a game that isn't meant to be played as tower defense.

it woulda been fine if they just had 3-4 strong monsters come out, fight you, and occasionally hit walls to break them.

tower defense and monster hunter are not a good combination. my guess is capcom just jumped on the TD train since it's popular rn.

Unless Sunbreak completely revamps Rampage from the ground up, it's gonna stay ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Just about anything is better than the Zorah sieges in World. I despise those with every fiber of my being. I do think it's funny how just about every MH game insists on having one weird and usually unfun siege. Players have been voicing their disdain for ages and yet Capcom is like "we gotta have em!" I mean it'd be fine if Capcom wasn't god awful at designing them.

They should have done it properly and not half hearted.

Nothing is wrong with it. It's a new mode. They need to work it out a bit but it's fun to play. you put your defense, whe nit's gong time you go melee and plenty of monsters attack you it's fun. Imo they should expand it more and remove the ability to shoot yourself.

For me it's ismple. Put every defense being always operated by ai and make them actually usefull. Don't allow player to operate these that's just pointless. Give people more defense and let it be chaos. Unga bunga 200%

I wish they could bring back a fight like Lao Shang but make it good without tower defense bs. I know to maintain the sense of "fairness" is difficult on stages like this, and on that i think they nailed on rampage, but it doesn't make it less boring in long term.

Actually i kinda wish we were the one doing the siege. It could be as a hunter sieging a very large monster where we have to destroy part of its body in order to reach its heart or head where various monster will come to its defense. Or, becoming the monster and pvp ing with another player hunter in siege.

I actually enjoy these compared to the painfully slow as molasses siege quests of a gigantic loot goblin swinging at you a total of 6 times per match. Rampages are about as action heavy as you want them to be, and actual strategy can reward faster clear times.

I don't hate rampages. I just don't like them either.
They're a neutral thing that can be okay to do every now and then but I'd get tired of them if I do too many in a row.

Once time i have a dream of doing a quest in which 2 giant monsters is fighting and you must help one to win , so you can get different mat from the same quest.
Anyways , i feel siege quest mostly inflexible , you must do XYZ in order to pass or to finish monster on time .

Probably the only Siege quest that i actually enjoy was the one in MH4U in which you hunt that damn giant elder leaking tar all over the place , or was it a regular hunt ?

i'd enjoy it more if we got unlimited ammo and weapons like in the training area so I don't have to spend regular ammo on it. We get lots of deaths so I don't see why not
I like tower defense and that's fun but I don't like the lack of variety. Once you've played 5 rampages they all feel the same

I don't mind rampage.

The main problem I think is just lack of variety. While there's a decent selection of monsters in the waves, they pretty much all act the same - the difference between Pukei Pukei and a Rathian for example tends to be hit point pool rather than behaviour or threat. Feeding into that is the fact there's only the two maps and a small variety in defences (particularly auto defences; it'd be nice to have something worth putting on the ground aside from bamboo bombs) which means once you've figured out how to set up the defences on the maps, the only time you ever need to do something different is the final boss.
