Meat Bait?
Is it just me or do monsters appear to absolutely ignore meat Bait nowadays? I don't think it was this hard to get them to eat in the past.

I usually place the bait in the next area in which they path. Usually when they get exhausted and move to another location, they are hungry and would eat the bait that's placed or eat the dead carcass.

but not all of the monsters stop to eat I noticed. In iceborn there is a small indication on the upper corner of that map that tells you when they are hungry. Not in rise, but i have noticed monsters like (super sayin monkey) I forgot his name, stop to eat a Gawa Carcass at some point of being exhausted.

As far as the bait, I think you would have more luck if you placed it where the carcass is. So instead of them eating the carcass, they end up taking the bait.

I got the impression it got harder after the fourth installment. But then looking at Tigrex ~ he is still like before. Maybe they need to walk a little to a nearby area before touching any food. But it still works.

eeh i doesnt seem more difficult. They seem to take the bait alot. Maybe it has to do with the placement as ive mentioned.

I've tried the baits but the only monster I've seen reliably take it is Tigrex but then he tends to blow his stamina pretty quick anyways

Only monster I ever felt much need to use the various baits on was Joe. And that was back in Tri.

After Tri too much stuff just ignores it. Just seemed a waste of time to me.

Well the thing is there is a list of monsters that are "enticed" by meat baits and monsters that are not. Then you have some monsters that are have a chance to be enticed by meat baits. Similar to the weakness of the monster.

It would be actually cool if it gets a revamp like with paintball ~ more or less

A simple idea would be making the bait meat, drugged or not, a crafting item to combine with a trap. And that kind of trap lures the monster in instead of having you being the bait.

that too, if not allow more monsters to want the bait. Especially the ones that flail soo much smh. And your idea is great too.

You can definitely look up the list but the only monsters weak to meat baits are Tigrex, Anjath, Arzuros, Great Baggi, Great Izuchi, Rathalos, Rathian and Great Wroggie

I always loved feeding Tigrex tainted meat for the paralyze.

But the Meat Bait, you chuck in the water, and it summons a swarm of fish to deal DoT and staggers. No large monster is going to go for Meat Bait

yeah that's the EZ bait, which is just raw meat, and it summons the Parana. They're all considered meat baits, but there are two for large monsters and one other for the Parana.

Except only EZ Meat Bait is called Meat Bait. None of the others are called Meat Bait. Its Tainted Meat, Poisoned Meat, Drugged Meat. Everyone here is using the words "Meat Bait" and crying about its inefficiency. I'm wiling to bet its because not enough people actually read descriptions, and are trying to feed it to actual monsters

lmao its *Tinged meat and not Tainted. You're the only one that mentioned anything about the EZ meat bait lmao. And the names are literally the same thing. So the Tinged meat, and poison meat is used to bait a monster. Whether it be a large monster or not. Arguing semantics when they all perform the same function of baiting is useless.
