New Guild Cross Set
So with the recent update to Rise, they released an unexpected surprise in the form of a new set of Armor set called Guild Cross. It's a low rank armor set, sporting a whopping 24 defense per piece, and cannot be upgraded. It features the following skills:

Geologist lvl 3, Botanist lvl 2, Marathon Runner lvl 1, Carving Pro, Hunger Resist lvl 1, Wirebug Whisperer lvl 1, and Wall Runner lvl 1.

The set looks pretty good, and even comes with the layered version right off the bat. My general impression is that it's a nice little early game armor set they added for gathering, and is far less in your face than a certain other armor set from another game. It'll also be a nice lil early game thing to have for the move from Switch to PC.

Let's see what everyone else thinks though.

That's just how it is, you never know what's going to be the prestigious piece of gear, it changes with every game. We used to have Sword Saint Earring for example, proof you A ranked all arena quests in MHGU. In World you have the AT layered armors. Nothing in Rise yet really since we don't have G rank.
You could argue the Feather of Mastery you get for doing all the Arena Quests in Rise with all the weapons is a prestigious piece of gear, especially when it guarantees you an extra carve.
Woah, holy that is gonna be rough to earn. Since I've never used anything other than charge blade.

Do arena quests act like MHW where you can only pick from 5(?) weapons for an arena quest, or do you get to pick from every weapon? If so that's gonna be insane to grind out.

Only five weapons, and some of them you fail after a single cart. Including the Rajang arena.

Honestly, the worst part about arena is it's the only way to get bow charge up in rise.

As Seamus said theres only 5 weapons to pick from for each arena quest. You only get one cart per attempt. Honestly it's not too bad, the hardest part is adjusting to new weapons.

All of them*

Honestly it's not that bad to do with every single weapon since the only requirement it's to just finish the arena, it doesn’t require a certain rank or anything, so just focus on survival and spend a couple of minutes to learn that weapon’s moves and fixed switch skills.

The worst part is that one single cart and the fact that there isn't a quick retry option, you die, you go back to the village, you select arena again, select weapon AGAIN, then go back into the arena and then you can try again. Also, there are a couple of arena quests that aren't on the arena but on one of the open maps and you need to hunt multiple monsters. Those are the worst every single time you cart.

Upside, the rajang one is hands down the fastest way to do charm melding.

With some practice you can reliably kill yourself in under 20 seconds. My personal record is 18.74 seconds. Though I know people who have managed like 15.

So, around a minute per run with load times to cycle the charm meld.
