Anyone enjoy using certain weapons in MHRise compared to MHW?
For me, it's definitely the SwitchAxe.

I played around with LS, but I kinda felt it was...clunky. But when I tried out SA on a whim, I was surprised at how ... smooth it was, all the moves just kinda flowed with each other and my hunts went significantly faster using SA.

My skill with the CB remains the same, but I was genuinely surprised the SA felt much better to use compared to MHW.

GS
power sheathe and wiredash are game changers
Thanks to wiredash, TCS is easier to get than in World
Rage slash replaces TCS but it's much easier to use. Way more used than TCS

GL
-Ground splitter is mobility and can lead to any attack
-Rise's blast dash is the best thing to ever happen to GL. Usable at any time now. Can be used in the air. Up to 3 consecutives dashes
-Charged shell leads to instant wyrmstake
-Wiredash leads to slam blast
Basically, GL is even more flexible than before.

Longsword feels better then world. Switch axe is at its best in Rise.

I never thought I'd like the bowguns, but I do. I hated ranged weapons in world due to them using a different control scheme from melee weapons. In Rise I tried them out and hoo boy, Slicing ammo and Blast ammo is so satisfying to use.
I mostly used GS, LS, and Hammer in World.
In Rise I use SnS, LBG, and LS.
Shield and Sword is my Speedrunning weapon.
Rise's DBs feral demon mode is a very nice alternative for demon mode, and being able to spin to win down monsters on demand is amazing. And them making the Insect Glaive's aerial combo buff the damage of the dive move is also very satisfying.

I have'nt played the full version so i didn't experience the switch skills, but i already love the DBs in this game. they feel so good to use.

Now if only gunlance's damage output wasn't godawful in the full game.

Tried the demo and didn't like what they have done to my Long Sword BUT Hammer is well... more fun I guess... since I can do the spin whenever I want

I mean I'm pretty familiar with how to use it, the only thing holding me back is the skills we don't have access to in the demo.
However, I'm open to check it out when you're done.

May I ask why you felt that they did the LS dirty? I also feel like it felt weird compared to world but I can't really put it into words

For me it's the opposite. I mush prefer Longsword in Rise than in World. The Iai Spirit Slash is one of the best moves if you master it and it can be chained together. It also doesn't use meter to use and instead increases it.

LS because Judgement Cut End (close enough)

I still don't know how to do that or if you're even allowed to do that in the demo?
Mind giving me some LS tips?
I hated using the GL in world, Rise's GL just felt...right to me.

Its one of the wirebug move, the rightclick one. I use KB+M so im not sure of the controller, (have your weapon out) but hold down the wirebug and attack to test it out. It's actually a counter, so you just have to anticipate when the mob is about to hit and use it
