RIP SnS Perfect Rush
I knew they nerfed SnS a bit in Rise but still, sad to see PR get hit as hard as it did but I get it. PR was kinda OP in world, but they changed the moveset a bit more than i like for SnS from world. I havent played other MH games so maybe the others are more like Rise?

I guess time to unlearn 600hrs of habits for SnS :P lol

infinite slash was removed entirely too. There is a workaround that somewhat allows you to keep chaining regular slashes but it's not the same. Basically you have to embrace the wirebug and use the silkbinds profusely to actually do damage with SnS now. Some people think it's amazing and an improvement. I personally disagree. Plenty of other weapons to try tho.
10 years of SnS main was getting me a bit burned out anyway.

Charge blade is awful in Rise
and PR was silly in World.. I guess the weapon needed it and you need a bit of skill to use non-stop but it was too OP

I'm in the camp that feels SnS is far better in Rise than it was in World but I'm also on Team Oils from GU.

What happened to CB? i havent played with it much but the moves seemed pretty similar.

PR was silly in World and it needed a nerf, just wish they didnt change the entire moveset because now SnS feels a bit clunky vs World. You cant roll cancel PR like in world and just PR->Roll->PR->Roll which hits DPS pretty hard and like was mentioned now no infinite slash. I loved SnS in World but Im not sure i will in Rise.

The other switch skills you get in the main game are really good. SnS is one of the most fun weapons in Rise.

Im gonna give it a good solid go for the full release as i play SnS almost exclusively. I just feel a bit clunkier/chunky with SnS in the demo so far but im only maybe 1hr in vs several hundred in world.

i dont know why everyone says this. ive been a CB main since mh4u and its honestly not that different in rise. actually has a really powerful wirebug move to boot. and i think savage axe is a LOOOOT less braindead in rise than it is in world (still braindead, though. don't like it as a mechanic)

but all the playstyles are still viable and as fun as they ever were.

It's good that you like it, but if a lot of people see issues with it something is wrong. One of my friends love CB (probably the best CB user i've ever seen) and he doesn't like CB too much in Rise

I still have to check it you, only played bow so far

Someone I played with regularly was a long time SnS main, and they dropped SnS in MHR because of the changes made to it, and I convinced them to join the Dark Side and be a gunner.

If you don't like the changes to the weapon you mained in a previous MH game, come on over and join the dark side!

Im with you on this. i hated what they did to SnS in world, the infinite combo just felt like crap. Perfect rush was definitely a plus though.

And we ain't never gettin oils back =\

Thats really stupid logic... Like, if LS finally got a nerf, and LS mains (aka 46% of the player base) got pissed off, thats not something wrong with the changes.

I wouldn't listen to people who say charge blade is bad in Rise, It really is not. I don't even know why people say that, but I think it has to do with the fact that they made the SAED shockwave REALLY narrow, so you actually have to aim it really well now or it will miss all the time. No more midless SAED spamming for the win.

Charge blade is now more about using the axe and countering with AED. You get silkbind moves that emphasize that playstyle, one is a dash attack which is the mobility you never had while in axe mode and the second one is a powerful guard that's basically a guard point that last a long time, lets you shortcut into AED and SAED, AND refills all your phials. So you could stay in axe mode for days if you wanted. It's much more fun than world Charge Blade.

It depends on what nerf you want. I'm pretty sure LS mains know very well LS is broken in rise just like OP knows PR is a little too much in World.

The CB situation is more akin to the IG in Rise, I watched people playing it back when the demo was available on the Switch and I already knew they destroyed the weapon.
