Is there a way to play the game on DX11? Please provide support DX11
Title

I'd love to play the game on DirectX 11, I wonder if there's anyway to either force the game to do so, a patch, or something of sort. Since my GPU supports DX12, but only to feature 11_1

Out of curiosity, why do you want to switch to DX11?

the game doesn't render AT ALL if you play with a graphics card that doesn't support dx12 and even if you can run the game, it will look like a graphical mess, making it pretty much unplayable

the game does not render well most of the objects and terrain are invisible this may be due to the use of DX 12

Well as mentioned above, my current GPU doesn't support DX12 Feature 12, so the game does run, but most of the objects are either completely invisible or dont render in any shapes or form

I might say stuff that you guys have heard before, but just in case I will post it to try to be helpful.

Because of how DX12 functions, this is usually caused by something being corrupt in the driver causing shader compilation to go very wrong. If the game runs with your GPU, then odds are good that it's supposed to support it just fine. If this is a regular problem with DX12 games for you, you should try doing a clean install of the driver using DDU and deleting all shader caches that your PC will keep (nvidia has a shader cache that DDU should wipe out, microsoft has a shader cache that can be cleared with the disk cleanup utility, and most games have a shader cache somewhere). If all of them aren't cleared, it's possible that the clean install won't fix the problem.

But yeah, again if the game boots with it, then your GPU supports whatever directx features this game is using and your problem is probably something on your system.

Out of further curiosity, what GPUs are you guys using? Also, if it's a well known issue with your cards, I'd be interested in knowing for my own reference in the future.

It seems that the game's engine does support DX11, however the game itself does not have any support for DX11 Shader Caching

According to the crash log anyhow

So, just to be clear, I had zero expectations going into this and assumed it wouldn't run on my old temporary laptop. It's got a GT 650m in it which is okay for 2D stuff but pretty much nothing 3D beyond like 2005.

Anyway, I was surprised it ran at all. Like the person above said, 80% of the assets don't render normally/at all but I did have a teensy spark of hope since it didn't catastrophically crash on me. Maybe it's because the latest drivers for this thing are from 2019? I suspect that's the issue.

I'm seeing other people on other forums having the same issue on older hardware. If I had to guess, they aren't checking for feature level support like they should be doing. Very weird thing to miss, surprised about it honestly.

I'm not too broken up about since I didn't expect to play it anyway, but it would certainly be nice if something would change come launch! :lunar2019piginablanket:

WHY CANT GAMEE RUN DX 8 ♥♥♥♥ GAME RATATATATATAATR
CodiGato Oct 13, 2021 @ 11:34am
I really do hope they will provide support for DX11 going forward, since the engine itself has plenty of support for it, especially their previous titles.

Been looking forward to play this with some of my old friends, beside, plenty of time till the release

tbh if game doesnt look better than crysis, then it should not demand directx more than 10, ideally
AguilaDeAcero Oct 13, 2021 @ 12:21pm
So.. Another Dx12 "exclusive" title?
