Why offer cross play, when you can deny it and then force an additional user to have to re purchase the game on PC
Makes sense to me if i was doing it
Makes no sense at all. U can sell more copies if u have at least cross progress(which prevents a user to play through the boring stuff again as example).
but thats just my thoughts about it. i have my opinion and u have ur opinion.
U can implement Cross Progress und Cross Play. But u still need a legal Copy of the Game for each Platform.
- PC needs 1 Copy
- Switch needs 1 Copy
I can imagine that cross play can be a challenge(switch hardware limits etc.), but cross progress shouldnt be that hard. other games with much smaller dev teams have already done it (and dauntless also have crossplay accross all platforms).
Was going to buy Rise for PC and the Addon lator too, but without Cross Progress i dont see why i should do that.
I have a MH Rise Edition Switch and going to buy the addon on release.
I was hoping i can use my Switch to play MH Rise Mobile, while im not at home, like during a train ride or visiting my parents and playing with my brother some quests etc.
and back at home i can play the same savegame on PC (which is my main platform).
i hope we get a community tool to transfer the savegames
Dont Starve and Dont Starve Together is an amazing example. They couldnt just make Dont Starve multiplayer, they had to completely program a new game from scratch to make multiplayer.
would made more money to allow at least cross save xD. a lot of people aint gonna double dip cause they have to replay so much (no story is not the issue, its the charm farm)
But generally I think they're scared of PC players playing with the console lads.
We got ourselves some real people who pay full price to cheat and disrupt a game.
if they love the double dip, they would allowed cross save/progressions :)
Course Capcom is not gonna "offend" their rich "friend".
Same reason DMC 5 on pc didnt get the same treatment the console versions did. Cause it would "hurt" the consoles since the performance and experience is much better with a decent pc as to console when it comes to the well optimised engine that is the RE engine.
Not trying to be some masterrace etilitist scum.
Capcom doesnt want to hurt their friends. Atleast didnt, since pc is gonna be a bigger focus for them.
The same will happen with Rise.
Cross save on the other hand is possible and I think Capcom saw enough people ask for it. That's the whole reason Capcom had the survey, too see what potential buyers wanted.
