Shrine Ruins and Bomboo forests. Also, that picture you linked is an edited picture of Sagano Bamboo Forest. It's a tourism photo, and photos like that will have contrast and saturation modified, because of tourism.
The bamboo youre more than likely thinking of being bright and vibrant is not a bamboo native to Japan, more than likely a species of yellow bamboo or other Chinese or African variant. Japan's largest bamboo species is Mosochiku bamboo, which is known for being rather large, but also has muted coloration, usually blues to green grays.
Japanese bamboo forests aren't really know for their color, it's more for the fact theyre full of plants that grow up to a foot a day. So please, go outside or actually look into locations of where games are based upon.
