Like title says I happily bought while ago BD2 to my switch, but I was very late to this info that this game has released on PC, octopath traveller released on PC, Nocturnal remastered as well as Dragon Quest XI oh and not to mention the new Ys game and yea lets release the new Monster Hunter game on PC, literally only 3 games left Zelda Botw, SMTV and Fire emblem three houses these are the titles now its worth to get on the switch, there are very few good games on this console I don't understand why they need to release these gems on PC

Every game is made on PC anyway, They just artificially lock the code later to sell their system, although most console exclusives end on PC nowadays, because it's stupid to buy new device for just one game you might like, while you already have more powerful hardware.

Nintendo unlike Sony is still holding many great titles for themselves: Pokemon, Mario, Zelda. SMTV, Xenoblade, Fire Emblem.

Good, exclusives suck. And DQ11 came out on 3DS, PS4, and PC before it came out on Switch, it was never exclusive to it.

While i agree with this sentiment i also feel like either make it exclusive or release it on all platforms simultaneously. I also bought BD2 on Switch and honestly, if i knew it was coming to PC i would never have done that. While i have no doubt there is some issues with this being a port i also have no doubt this is the superior version (at the very least, graphically).

There is no reason for them to do this other trying to scum suckers into buying the game twice. Sadly ill probably end up buying a key for this game off some shady cd key reselling site now because i would feel like i scammed myself paying full price for this game twice.

Your logic makes ni sense. This game was never announced for pc. It literally dropped I forget at 6 or 12 months. Hence Nintendo had a TIMED exclusive and during it, it couldn't advertise pc.

And I guess you will have another heart attack in 2022. As Shin megami v is coming to steam this year. That was shown off months ago. So one less exclusive for ya.

Exclusives are meaningless. All consoles past and present lead to pc. Regardless if its steam, a rom, emulator, or black market. Ha ha Link.

For the switch at least this is a little bit iffy. Cause of the low power of the system, timed exclusives for it have to often keep that in mind for their design. It's not artificial in that case. Look at Monster Hunter World which was designed for the Xbone and PS4 in mind vs Monster Hunter Rise which had the power of the switch in mind.

For crap like zelda and mario, we all know Nintendo milks every title to the point of death with virtual consoles and NES Online and HD and 3D remasters. But these 3rd party exclusives are most likely not gonna get remasters outside of a rerelease on another platform. Its for the best for the sake of game preservation. Most people are still gonna associate games like SMTV and Monster Hunter Rise and Octopath with the switch anyways even tho they are all having PC ports. Honestly wish Xenoblade 2 could get ported over so we can finally have a version that isn't a fuzzy mess in more dense areas.

Yes, it was announced for PC, at Gamescom actually. What exactly don't you understand? There is plenty of games that are timed exclusives, they say so upfront, usually with a time frame attached (but even without a timeframe its fine).

Why would i have a heart attack over SMTV? Trash game, didn't waste the money on Switch, wont waste the money on PC, no dramas.

The rabid fanboism in this thread isn't necessary, i already said i learned my lesson, i wont purchase another game on Switch unless its a 1st party Nintendo IP lol.

Why would Nintendo -- who published the game -- advertise that it'd be available elsewhere?

Wtf are you talking about? Nintendo published the Switch version of the game outside of Japan... Square Enix published the game on PC. I never said i expected Nintendo to advertise it? I said if it was going to be a timed exclusive that should of been disclosed upfront... Ya know, like they do with 100s of other timed exclusive games? 🤦‍♂️

You do realize nintendo has a slew of first party ip's that will always be exclusive, right? Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, kirby etc. etc. . Nintendo is one of the only consoles worth owning anymore thanks to their strong lineup of ip's.

As for third party developers: Why should they limit themselves to one console? In the current market, I imagine doing so cuts off a large potential audience. The console maker would need to provide adequate compensation for the smaller potential playerbase. I have a feeling that the only way this becomes true is if the developer doesn't have a lot of capital to pull from and need help funding their games to begin with. Even then, the contracts signed often expire the exclusive part after a certain period of time.

I'm not a market expert and this is all speculation, but at the end of the day a game is a product and the companies making them need capital in order to function, and, if possible, grow.
