Chance for Bravely Default 1 PC?

Heya, I wishlisted BD2 as soon as I spotted it. However, will there also be a port of the first game at some point?

I enjoyed playing it on my Nintendo 3DS. However, I only play handhelds in rare phases, and when I return to a game after a long pause, I have to start over to get back in the mood. So I never actually finished it :(

It's possible but would require much more work since its in an older proprietary engine and most of the assets are extremely low-res and polygon. It would basically have to be a massive remastering project.

That being said BD2 is mostly unconnected to BD1 and BS:EL so you don't need to have played them to enjoy this!

Maybe I give an emulator a go for the 3DS version, just so that ill be more motivated to play more of it. But I guess I wont be able to use the network functions then :P

Its very unlikely Bravely Default, and Bravely Second will ever be on PC or any other platforms. That said, 3DS emulators out there play both games perfectly.

Overall porting 3DS games to PC might be a tad tricky, but indeed you can always try citra :)

I hope this succeeds enough to inspire them to do so eventually. I suppose we'll see.

I know CyberConnect2 has said they would love to port Solatorobo but for similar reasons if they did it would be a very large project due to it being on the DS. There are tons of games in the "banished to hand held machines" phase as I call it that deserve ports.

I wish BD1 will get a port. Love the cast, story, music and art. The late game padding does exist and it's definitely a weak point but great game regardless.

as much as id like to see it probably not. I would just say emulate it and if you want to support them buy a physical copy of it too

I do have it for 3DS. But as I said, I don't really enjoy playing handheld on small screens anymore, so I have trouble diving into a big RPG there.

I guarantee there won't be a dedicated PC port. However if they ever announce it for Switch and/or mobile (maybe someday) then chances are good!

Well in any case I could recommend a 3DS as platform regardless, it has a giant library a lot of JRPG's, some of the best in its genre. I wouldn't say it's "banished" since the 3DS system has still an active online shop and can be purchased quite easily together with the game. It's one the most sold plattforms of Nintendo and with backwards compatibility you can even play DS games. So you have over 5000+ Games eventually to play.
