Sandbox components?

Hello!

Let me just start of by saying I have absolutely LOVED this game. Stuffe, this is simply amazing.

Now that I've finished all the levels I find myself needing something to do, so I look towards the sandbox. I'm curious how the sandbox specific components are intended to be used. For example the keyboard and screen. Does anyone have a quick rundown of how I can read keyboard input and display characters on the terminal screen?

there is some info in in-game manual (might need to be in sandbox that you open from main menu)
and when you click on each component there is info in menu at the bottom
