Scared cats away but chest is locked

Have absolutely zero clue or direction on how to open the chest, pretty still in the tutorial

Rango tells you as you don't have a beak, you need a tool.
You should have collected "Part 1" of the tool by now (1/2 - the "stick").
Remember where you landed when you "smashed" the kitties, then look out for the planks on the ground, and look closely at them... they might not by accident all shape an arrow to guard you all around the island on your way...

I have attempted to climb the wall and the climbing points have broken off. I have a stick, but I watched a gameplay from six months ago, and the guy had the top of the pickaxe, and I cannot find that thing anywhere and I have been around the island countless times I feel like. Where is it located? I’m done and would happily accept a spoiler.

If you emerge the "smash the kitty part", there is an arrow made of planks pointing direct into the water. Dive down there. There's a small path between the seaweed and a chest waiting for you.

I’m struggling even with the swimming mechanic, i appreciate the help. Ill just die a tonne until i get the hang of it

You can just use thumbsticks to swim, if you are struggling with the other method.
