Class of '09

kinda disappointing tbh
title is kind of misleading. its a great game, a lot of fun, but wayyy too short. it took me 2.6 hours to finish the entire game with every ending and the video message at the end while listening to the voice acting. for my first time playing through blind with no guides that is definitely not worth what i paid for it. if i knew at the start that it was so short i honestly wouldve done my best to go sub 2 hours for the refund.

im a full time student part time minimum wage slave and its not worth it for me to pay $15 AUD for a game that doesnt even last me an afternoon off.

lmk if you feel the same way, or differently, just dont be a ♥♥♥♥.

It's the very first game from a guy trying to break into industry on a limited budget. When you buy indie games, results may vary. It is what it is.

The second game has like 4x as much dialogue because the dev used the first game's sales to invest into the second game. Maybe the third game will be that much bigger again!
that makes sense. its not like its a developer flaw but the price seems excessive to me. if i wasnt listening to the voice acing i have no doubt that i couldve done a sub 2 hour blind. it just hurts that entertainment for less than 3 hours costs me a bit over an hour of fast food work.

I understand what you're saying. If it's any consolation, the money spent on this game crowdfunds bigger and better games in the series.

Maybe consider getting the second game when it goes on sale. It's much longer.

A movie ticket costs nearly twice as much, gives roughly half the length, and has zero replayability

most movies are a lot longer than 2.3 hours, and its not even a good argument. i know movie tickets and snacks are overpriced which is why i dont buy them. the difference between movies and video games is that movies always have the same runtime no matter who's watching it, while video games vary heavily depending on the player. i cant just look up the games runtime and decide if its worth it.

maybe don't use guides to complete games and you had fun for at least 5 hours. So stop bullshitting anyone. No guides yeah sure

first of all, youre a little bit late. i have already contacted steam and got the game refunded. second i dont know how i couldve had 5 hours of fun when my playtime is just over half of that. thirdly, i said clearly in my post that i used no guides and i played through blind, with absolutely no prior knowledge. you cant say that im bullshitting when you have no way to know either way. i also said lmk if you feel the same or differently. i did not say "defend the game with your life because you disagree" this is purely my opinion, and i wanted to see how other people felt. im trying not to compare games here, but ddlc is replayable and hours longer for absolutely no cost. obviously the devs need to make money, but its not something i would want to spend my money on.

tbf i dont watch many movies, and the last one i watched was mission impossible dead reckoning pt 1. and before that it was oppenheimer, and before that it was dune. all well over the 2.3 hour mark.

i honestly dont know what you think im saying. ive said so many times that this is my opinion. i wanted this to be a discussion, not people having to defend their fav visual novel on steam by talking ♥♥♥♥. absolutely pathetic

you know. i'm sorry. i didn't intend to bully a teenager. i thought this game was rated 17+ so i didn't expect this

As others have said, I compare my playing time in visual novels to films precisely because they are not real games. The price-performance ratio was therefore fine for me.
