Damn, though, you 1CC'd R-TYPE FINAL with the Midnight Eye? That's gotta take some guts considering how it performs (that is to say, it's not exactly the greatest for combat)...
The R-9E series doesn't really have that, and they also run with the Camera Force - which isn't anything to write home about for power. The Recon Wave Cannon doesn't last - it's literally just a camera flash compared to, say, the Shock Wave Cannon whose hitbox lasts until the AOE dissipates.
They are the Early Warning System, after all - they gotta be there first so they can alert the rest of the squad to finish what they cannot.
In case you're wondering what those two special ships are, by the way, you had to pledge about $500USD for the privilege - for those few backers exclusively, they were granted access to two exclusive R-Craft. A vote was done early on to decide between four ships for inclusion, and the APRIL FOOL'S and BLUE SYMPHONIES were the ones that were decided upon by Granzella.
Seriously, if any of you think the game's ridiculously overpriced as-is, just read what I said above one more time...
*I do think £34.99 for a shmup is a little much these days, considering the "simplicity" of them, further down the line when there's more content though it'll probably be worth it.
And no, nobody - not even the backers - have any of the regular passwords for R Museum aside from STRIDER's own, and I'm willing to bet that STRIDER's password was found by pure coincidence thanks to the fact that it's "granzella" in lowercase. It seems obvious in hindsight since it does correspond to the developers, but it's case-sensitive - so I have to commend whoever found out about that code for managing to find it without anyone official giving a vague hint towards them.
Plus, we can't even punch in Mr. HELI's password - the TP-2 POW ARMOR is locked, so you can't go down to the path it's on.
