Is it just me or....
It seems that every tier 4 and 5 on hard mode seems to be going over 5-6k, some of these units look only to be worth 3k max. I just sit there some times and watch the NPC's bid to almost 7k on a tier 4. I have yet to make a profit on a tier 4 or 5 because they just keep bidding.

tbh i noticed too, i just let them bid it out till last second and if they out bid me more than twice i let it go cuz aint no profit from that if the same npc gonna be draining you of your money (they just come to their own storage unit just to make the bid higher i swear)

I just spent my first $2,000 earnings on upgrading the scanner, leaving me with about $800, and I couldn't win a SINGLE auction all day because NPCs are willing to place absolutely unrealistic bids on any junk. I literally visited EVERY auction during the day (4 Village, 2 Town, 2 Junkyard) and barely managed to win just one last one at the Junkyard, and even that turned out to be a loss. After this experience, I feel like hard mode isn't very well balanced at the moment. It might be better to restart on easy difficulty since the game was initially designed with that in mind, and hard mode just isn't fun when NPCs are ready to spend thousands of dollars on random trash. It's a waste of time and money.
Just bid 1800 on a lot which was (before lockpicking chest) 550...
They are just too eager to overbid that its just a false difficulty.

Would be nicer if the AI bidders had a cap on how much their max bid can be based on auction tier. Cause in easy mode i can easily make 4-8k profit from t4 or t5.

Unlike ‘Barnfinders’ NPCs who *know* when to give in realistically.

Hardmode i just feel is frustrating more than actual hard.
The hardest part of hard mode, is not punch something when the NPC keep out bitting you at the last second repeatedly and when you get several auctions in a row where the game wants you to loose money or walk away, the game is not fun there its just frustrating.

I have a formula that I use when bidding in hard mode which is starting bid, rounded to the nearest 10, times 6, once it past that number I walk away, have not lost on a won auction since doing that.

This just in: Hard mode is hard and you're not meant to win everything. More at 11.

I was able to win a few bids now. There is a reason they put a walk away button in the game. It's more of realizing when the npcs are bidding it up and walking away then trying to out bid them. You also get an achievement for it as well.
