In fact, even now and during battles, you can feel these details everything they do. Heroes have their unique combat functionalities based on their backgrounds and stories. How they move, how they talk or behave is also reflecting their unique taste.
For example you can hear Xander saying "another glorious mission sh*t? for f... sake!" because he is an old war veteran and tired from never ending conflicts.
As you also said, indeed some of them are closer to others, and some outright hate each other. Aurora and Phoenix were lovers before Daeva killed them (yes, she did kill them, and now you are in the same party with them living in the same mothership :) ) and because of that, Phoenix had to be transcended into a neo-human (we don't know what was his human name, but his body was beyond repair and the Goddess (again for unknown reasons) decided to save him by transcending him into a neo-human) and now they can still be lovers but it is up to our players. Aurora was also killed, but she was just revived by the Mother, not turned into a neo-human. Same goes for Xander. Xander-Aurora-Phoenix are really close, Xander is like their mentor and especially like a father to Aurora.
Funny thing is Xander has a crush for Daeva, and Aurora has an infinite hatred towards Daeva since she holds her responsible from everything happened to them, and for that reason she is also getting VERY angry when Xander can't stop moving around Daeva like a lapdog :D Aurora's short tempered nature, combined with Daeva's EPIC trollish character, giving us super fun and interesting moments whenever they bump into each other. Well actually Daeva is like a walking chaos agent, she loves annoying people, stirring chaos to all kinds of situations and abusing your desires -not because she is necessarily evil- but mostly because... well she is an epic troll.
There are tons of similar details in the game. The relationship between Rumbrogon and Odile is also special. We have the siblings, Xue and Chun (upcoming), or very special bond between Seliné and the Mother and so on. You can check hero stories from their pages here: https://angelicthegame.com/heroes
oh btw before I forgot, these are "haircords" as we call them. Usually 3rd gen neo-humans, or commonly known as the arch-angels, has those cords. They appear like cords or wires but actually their functionalities can vary. Their common usage is interacting with neo-human-only interfaces. For Daeva, they can turn into weapons, or whips... (don't ask for what specific purpose haha) and more. But Daeva cannot revive or heal heroes. Seliné (the blue winged angel) can.
Thanks for very detailed answer, as usual. :) You have pretty nice roster of heroes with a detailed backstory.
So Odile is mute? Interesting. I wonder how you will communicate with her on the ship. Anyway I assume it would be epic moment when she finally speaks... :)
"Haircord" is a good name. If it works like a wire I can imagine that you plug it into some device and when short-circuit occurs then it will make your hair stand - I mean Daeva's hair stand. :-)
My pleasure!
Re: Odile, yes and no. She is not speaking, but not because she is mute. She just don't want to speak or due to infestation's side effect, cannot speak. It is not clear. She was a mezzosoprano and ballerina, so that's why she hums time to time, and actually when she does that, it calms down Rumbrogon a lot. She can also scream as you can see in battles. It is also clear she can understand people when they talk, she simply does not talk back -either because she thinks they are not worthy her time or she prefers to ignore people.
Haha exactly :D So, all gen3 neo-humans with hair cords can connect their "special" ports with their hair cords. However, we have a special term, "atronic" , for characters who can hack by utilizing tech tools AND atron, an enigmatic energy which can manipulate matter and gravity. It is an electromagnetic energy, and a special agent that can even manipulate gravity. As far as we know, only certain neo-humans (like Iset the Mother, Chun and Daeva) can utilize that energy. We also know it is not from our universe. For some reason Odile can also harness it, and we have no idea how because she cannot speak :)
you see there will be plenty of mysteries for our players to unfold when we launch our single player campaign.
Yes, the universe shapes up nicely. Good work. :)
I wonder if there will be special moment when she will finally speak - for example when Rumbrogon will be in grave danger.
Is Bart also atronic?
I wonder - is he new robotic member of the team? Or just a robot on the ship? Well, it seems he is not just normal robot. :)
BTW The wallpaper with Seline Vivarri is wonderfull. She never looked better. :)
I also like her surname (Vivarri) - strangely fitting for neo-human.
Well, we’ll see. She does sign, though only through humming or hymning, but she can still produce sound, and her voice is hauntingly beautiful. Theoretically, that means she could speak. After all, she was once human and must know human languages. But will she? That, I cannot say. :)
And about Bart, he is a support-warrior hybrid in terms of his combat functionality. Bart is a synth, made by human corporations. While serving as a regular service bot, the battleship he was serving was a part of an assault orchestrated by Lilac Crocus corpo vanguards and pirates, and they were attacking a neo-human colony. The distress signal was received by Osiris, our mothership, and Seliné was commanding it back then, and they intervened and saved the colony. Bart and many other synths were left behind (corporations usually does not bother to evacuate their synths) and naturally captured by the neo-humans.
Bart and some other vivibots (*vivibot term refers to a class of a particular group of synths) wanted to join the mothership crew, and Seliné accepted. Bart learned a lot about human and neo-human history, and especially inspired from the Transcendence Project, which was made possible humans to transcend neo-humans and arguably the most impactful scientific discovery in history. He has fixated his mind to become a human, and for decades his relentless and perhaps hopeless quest to become a human being (maybe to transcend a neo-human afterwards) continues :)
For now, he is still a vivibot but not like others. He is quite smirky, a bit cracked, fun and especially loyal to Aurora (due to the events happened in Dread Heaven colony, which is the main storyline we are developing nowadays and will release with our open beta build)

Thanks! Seliné and actually all our heroes are now on another level. We have implemented metahuman infra (Unreal's amazing tech) to all of our heroes, so they won't only look good, they will talk and feel also amazingly realistic.
