They completely migrated this to the latest Telltale game engine/tools/platform so it should run much better and smoother (at least just as good as Season 3 or like the newer Telltale games like Batman or Walking dead), offer all episodes in a single executable and support modern resolutions.
Also includes improvements to the camera (camera angles/tracking), new voice for Bosco (Not sure if this is a good change, we will have to wait and see). Lighting overhaul, new facial animations for Sam & Max and some other artistic changes.
TL;DR - Yes it's not that "big" of an update, but it's good enough to attract new players to take a look at this series, and who knows - maybe after they remaster/update all of the seasons, then we may see Season 4 come out... :)
why are they doing it? It doesnt make sense.
Voice over should be determinded by the voice not by the skin color....
had the most lines of any npc as well...

people make fun of stereotypes since 1384 BC...
oh well.....
Still think it kinda sucks to have to change anything like that, rather than just keep it in with a big Tom and Jerry disclaimer (for reference[www.dailydot.com]), but I guess it would be overkill to put so much attention on that, plus it makes it easier for them to have a voice actor ready if they ever bring Bosco back for a season 4.

They're also adding a few external establishing shots (Hopefully they can maybe be explored), like Ted.E.Bears Mafia free casino, and making the package feel more cohesive, less like six episodes and more like one game.
I'm pretty sure at the time of developing Sam and max save the world initially, Telltale's intent was to separate themselves as much as possible from the lucasarts games. Keeping likenesses such as Flint Paper and the overall design of their office building to what was already present in Purcell's comments. I'm sure Farmer and Jameson wouldn't be opposed to reprising their roles, but the Telltale voices just stuck. Personally, I prefer the duo this way and I'm glad to return in "This time it's virtual" as well.
Why though? I don´t want to spam the same message or video links, but just respond to another thread about this topic. I´m sorry, but nobody with actual good taste would play Season 3 and ask for a continuation. Tony Soprano dies, Bruce Willis was a ghost and the one on the wheelchair becomes the new king of westeros... things end, and people need to start lerning to let them die.
I love Sam and Max, but if there´s ever anything else about it it just CAN´T be a season 4, it has to be a new version or make a new series of game completely ignoring the canon stablished in TellTaler´s version. The limits of the TellTale version of the characters has already being explored, they simply cannot move forward in any direction, and what do you get when your story has no direction? utter ♥♥♥♥, that´s what. I would prefer Sam and Max to be another series that becomes a putrid parody of itself just to keep the corpse dancing for the few fans who can´t let it go.
