Original Removed from Steam?

So I was looking in to possibly purchasing the original season 1 before the remaster got announced. I found out the original was removed from Steam before the remaster has even released, so now I can't buy it through Steam until the remaster. While I find it kinda a disrespectful move, I can perfectly understand the decision. I want to make sure, is this going to have the exact same content as the original game, same jokes and everything just with a graphical and musical facelift?

The remaster started off as a patch to get the original working better on modern computers(probably part of the reason it's been removed), so yeah, it's basically the same. The biggest changes are some added establishing shots and one of the voice actors being recast.

Still, it'd be nice if they included the original with this just for the sake of keeping it accessible.

Bosco. He's a recurring side character in the first two seasons. It was a case of "white guy doing a black guy voice" so they decided it wouldn't be tasteful to keep it.

Whether or not that's the right move is up to you, but if you're new you'll only notice it if you play Season 2 after this(which should hopefully get a similar remaster sometime later).

Recasting Basco sounds like a bit of an odd idea; it's not like he was particularly offensive in any way to anyone besides conspiracy theorists (of whom are probably okay to mock).

I really liked Basco's performance in the original, so hopefully they at least got someone better or equal.

even then basco was also kind of oddly colored so they could have gotten away with it if they wanted (cus basco was both a. a test tube baby and b. has a white father i know it was a past pres but i forget who.)

Aww they recast Bosco! That's dumb. Get excited for remaster then run headlong into progressive nonsense. If anything they should've re-recorded Max's lines from the first episode with the guy who did the rest of the episodes.

Excuse me? If any lines need to be recorded, they should be Max's lines from the first episode AND all the other episodes AND Sam's lines, because Bill Farmer and Nick Jameson were ROBBED of the right to record their beloved characters again.

Telltale Games went bankrupt, and most of their games are no longer available on steam for various rights related reasons.

humble bundle still has season one up for sale. g2a also sells keys for cheaper (though prices went up after it was delisted lmao). there are plenty of physical disc copies floating around on sites like ebay(which normally go for less than $10), but that wont get you the -50% discount for the remaster lol

if you havent played the other sam & max seasons, theyre still on steam and recently dropped down to half price, and since there are plans to remaster those as well then id suggest getting them asap lmao lest you have this same issue later

It's no surprise bosco is recast. They can't cast a guy who literally got excommunicated by the industry, that's terrible PR.
