Peripeteia

Story
So... What's the story? Almost all of the game feels like a lucid dream with bits of narrative here and there, which do not fit exactly well. Even if the lore surrounding game is more clear than story itself.

This looks like some weird Ergo Proxy, Deus Ex, GITS mashup

Yeah... But they HAD story. Here I just feel mostly lost on why does protagonist do any of the things she does. Lore is at least somehow given through dialogues, but the main plot is almost non-existent and feels like it doesn't make much sense.
dog the game and it's story is not complete

I know. But I steel understand nothing which happened through the 5 levels available.
Before the start of the game Marie was in some kind of disabled state, almost dead. She somehow ended up in the possession of a merchant who sold her to Filemon as scrap, but while he was preparing her for harvesting her cybernetics he ended up causing her to recover her functions from a backup system. Once awake she finds out she's lost all her episodic memory except for vague memories of an underground bunker that she's driven to find.

From then on each level is Marie arriving at a location, finding important people embroiled in some local conflict, and doing a favour for them so that they'll help her get to the next point in her journey to figuring out where this bunker is. So far the individual levels have mostly been pretty standalone, the PSR and Second Union show up in multiple levels each but there's very few recurring characters.

Oh. Thank you. I thought I was missing something. Thank you a lot.
You gotta find a bunker that's tied to marie's/your past. That's the gist.

The kickstarter page provides a little more clarity as to the setting:

Awakening within a former closed city; a hollowed carcass of a now dead and obsoleted area of the Soviet Union, Marie finds herself among the myriad of mercenaries and teched out former soldiers fighting for global powers circling like vultures overhead. In this city: secret is law, morality is mystery and reality is a liar. Unlocking the hidden technology the old Union left behind- and the dark weapons of last resort they stood to unleash, is the goal of all who step foot in this cursed tomb. Will Marie support the Poles of her birth, who have burned through the city for their fledgling Solidarity Republic? Will she betray her people for the mysterious Second Union? Or will she subvert all, and work for powers unknown paying big for quiet kills?

so it seems what's happening is that marie has found herself in the middle of a war between these two factions and gets caught up between them while trying to solve her own personal mysteries. each level having their own localized plot that all vaguely hints at some bigger picture involving marie's past. like a road trip anime.

the kickstarter page also mentions that cutscenes in between the levels are planned at some point, which would explain why the story feels so stripped down. the patreon page also mentions additional lore material made exclusively for backers, so maybe one of them will bestow upon us the forbidden knowledge.
