maybe you were playing at an odd time. admittedly surprisingly ive been having longer and longer waits to join games.
I use crossplay on, so there should at least be people from other platforms showing up. But even like this, finding a session to join is really dificult.
In my opinion, this is the dev's fault due to how multiplayer is implemented. You literally have to ask to be invaded and starting a cooperation is one of the ways to ask to be invaded, so a lot of people will opt to not cooperate at all to not be invaded. Add on top that using the cooperation board to play with friends bypasses the invasion system and this is where that brings us.
There's a hanful of things that could be done to significantly shorten wait time to find a session:
-Stop the cooperation board from bypassing invasions.
-Make it so being guiltless is enough to enable invasions.
-A more player friendly option would be giving rewards to the host every time a Dawnlight cooperator receives a token. This would encourage summoning cooperators, which will make it easier to find invasions and easier to find invaders to hunt, improving matchmaking for everyone as a result.
It's probably true that the player base is really low, but I think the poor design choices around multiplayer are at fault to the difficulty of finding sessions to cooperate/invade/hunt.
