But, infuriatingly, you have to get at least 1 multiplayer token first for it to work- you just cannot trade it in until you've got at least one of the medals normally.
There seems to be an active effort to patch up the weaker parts of the game in the next update, hopefully some non-multiplayer way to farm these things eventually gets included.
As for the sore winners, you can keep people from randomly sending you messages. And some of them aren't just sore winners, some of them can be hit countless times and never even get hurt.
There aren't too many like that, but it is a pain to do the multiplayer because there was no matching of any sort, so most of the people invading are ridiculously high level and over built for any competition compared to the people they go after. There are a few that are just doing it for fun, but there are too many of them that aren't in it for any fairness or challenge.

I don't suppose those hunts refresh in NG+ ?
Doing the daily fated hunts gets you those sand scorched token things. Those can be exchanged for alliance tokens at their respective alliance leaders.
