Tim requires all games that are on his store to use EoS, it's part of the agreement. Some games let you turn it off, like Risk of Rain 2 for example. So there's a chance these devs might let you do so. Most of the time you can just firewall the service and it won't affect the game. Usually. Some devs implement eos so thoroughly into their game that firewalling it breaks it entirely, for example Remnant 1 won't even launch if you have it firewalled now, Total War DLC won't acknowledge that you own it anymore if EoS is firewalled because for some reason it verifies ownership through the epic store instead of steam now.
