I hope Trine 6 doesn't do this... (story spoilers)
So the fact that the Trine granted the heroes the ability to swap with Amadeus's children seems to imply that the triplets will be playable in 6. So this is my warning to Frozenbyte: Don't. The only one of the three who is even marginally likable is Julius. Having any play time taken away from the OG heroes by these upstarts would be an absolute franchise killer. Hopefully my concerns are unjustified and that's not at all the direction that FB was planning, but still I had to voice them.

I am not sure, I could actually see the heroes retire at some point soon. Trine 5 makes a point of mentioning several times how long they have been heroes for and how much the world has changed since they started.

The first time you see them you know it will be like that.
3 kids
1 girl 1 guys and 1 gay/trans maybe
There all black
You know this is for the "next generation"

I hope Trine 6 brings the combat and puzzle combos that Trine 2 had back. Trine 4 and 5 were both weak in the combat areas.

trine 4 had zoya explaining her "leggings" was the red flag, but I never expected them to take this plunge so quickly, now they made zoya gay, AND her partner is indian too. This is the future of the series no doubt. This will be the last trine for me anyway, the game is getting stale, even the devs know it so they'll mangle it up with esg stuff that's prevalent nowadays because they don't give a ♥♥♥♥ anymore. Perhaps the devs should just retire the series rather than desecrate its corpse with current politics.

I don't think the devs are at fault, they still made a great game. Sadly it is stilled marred by this nonsense to attract this crowd.

It also really raises the question why their are in this form, because these kids do have magical abilities, so Margaret must have been busy with a customer in her shop or something.

I couldn't agree more. The last thing I needed in Trine to see was identity politics. Thankfully it didn't impact the gameplay or the story, but the theme of the game "the old world is dead" is pretty much their subtle announcement what we can expect from the franchise in the future: wokeness. They were right, though - the old Trine died with fifth installment. But at the end of the day, we got 4 awesome games and one that's just fine. That's a win in my book. I just hope that they will port T1 and T2 to the newest engine and perhaps remake T3, and put them all into one package a la Serious Sam Fusion before they will repeat Saints Row 4.

And as much as it pains me to say this, after seeing what they did to characters in main game I don't want them to make an expansion. I want to end my run with the franchise with happy memories.

I want them to give another chance to Shadowgrounds, a forgotten series. With Trine engine, a nice co-op support and a progression system (which keeps people playing), i can see it having great chances of becoming a success.

Fully expect to see Trine 6 appear on the Sweet Baby Inc detected list.
But if so, saves me $50.

Played all games so far. When I first played Trine 3 back when it got out, I hated it. Now I like it the most. Same for my kid. First started the series when she was 4 years old, hated Trine 3 now we replay it the most. I think it's time they give another shot at 3D.

Hope they bring back different size boxes, planks etc. Really miss that from the first games. Trine 4 and 5 are more friendly towards toddlers, but I enjoyed the mechanics from the first two games more.

Damn you guys are sensitive.
The slightest hint of diversity and you act like they spat in your tendies.

There needs to be absolutely no diversity in games like Trine. None. It's a series of games about solving puzzles using magic. Diversity serves no purpose other than creating tokenism.

If it is suitable for the story and setting, nobody does care.

People DO care, if protagonists suddenly get race swapped, suddenly there is a out-of character lesbian stuff going on where the the same character has become a girl boss and every other of the male protagonists have become wussy and weak. And the love interest of her is fully out of place too in that setting.

Also, if I'd go further that certain character got replaced by another incarnation of herself looking very unlike of the Zoya of Trine 1+2. You can wave that away though of the heritage of the new Zoya.

Or how do you explain that the kids of Amadeus got suddenly all dark with pink hair from Trine 4 to 5?

On the same page, if a game changes to an all stereotype full male testosteron filled protagonists you should not also care by your logic.
