How does it compare to Trine 4?

I only played trine 2 and 3, never played the original(I should) but the reason I asked, because of the disappointments I read of trine 4. So is it better?

Trine 4 has very positive reviews, 90%, and even had a dlc.
Trine 5 is very simular to 4 with new skills, combat much more like in Trine 2, puzzles a little more challenging but difficulty adjustable.

In my personal opinion Trine 4 was the best one so far. (even better than the much praised Trine 2) Trine 5 comes pretty to close to 4. However, I'm not through it yet, but so far I REALLY like it!

Im liking it more than Trine 4, the puzzles specially are much better this time around. The story seems more interesting as well, the villains are quite despicable and everything is at stake. The cutscenes are very well done as well.

I would say that (so far) Trine 5 seems to be more polished version of Trine 4. Story is rather simple, but interesting. You can adjust difficulty of puzzles, so they can be pretty challenging. Also combat is a bit better than in previous game (+there are cool bosses).
If you played any Trine before, you will probably enjoy this as well.

On terms of puzzles and combat, I'm finding it the best yet. To each their own, I guess.

I think you might confuse Trine 3 and 4. 3 was the one that people were disappointed by (I still kinda liked it).

In the end I would go in this order: Trine 2/Trine 4 - Trine 5 - Trine 1 - Trine 3.
Mind you, I liked Trine 3, but it is half a game.
