How to enter VR mode?

First of all, thanks for the great game!

I saw the VR update and I was super excited, but I'm having trouble running it. Maybe I'm just being stupid ^^"

My general VR workflow is as such (given I use a Meta Quest 2 which is not supported under SteamVR for Linux directly)
1. Start ALVR
2. Start SteamVR through ALVR
3. Start the game I want on Steam, wait for Steam to ask me if I want to start the game in regular or VR mode and choose VR mode

I know my flow is probably a bit unorthodox but this works great for all games I've tried so far. However, Escape Simulator seems to always start in the non-VR mode and not give me an option to start in VR. Is there something I'm missing? Is there some launch option to force VR?

(For point 3 I'm specifically talking about a menu like this[imgur.com] which Escape Simulator doesn't show for me)

Hey yeen, thank you for the report. We do have that option and it should ask you which mode of the game you want to launch when starting the game. Have you tried setting launch option on Steam under Escape Simulator > Properties > General > Launch Options > Ask when starting a game like this [imgur.com]

I have the same Issue, and I'm pretty sure stems from a misconfiguration of the game.
The game is set up to allow for the "Launch in SteamVR" option only on windows.
That is at least what I gather from the page from SteamDB ( https://steamdb.info/app/1435790/config/ ).

A new launch option for Linux is currently not enabled

@N00byKing is right: the VR option is not available for the Linux build of the game. Sadly running `%command% -es_vr` doesn't work either. So it seems the Linux build just doesn't have VR support at all.

Forcing the Windows version of Escape Simulator by going to Properties -> Compatibility -> Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool causes the game to offer the SteamVR option on Linux and it seems to run just fine (well, I just checked quickly, didn't play a whole session).

Thanks for the info! It's a bit weird that it isn't documented anywhere that only Windows users get to play the VR version but luckily forcing the Windows version seems to work fine under Linux so that's still pretty cool :)
