Steam Deck controls not working

I have previously been able to play this on my steam deck but all of a sudden the game will not register my inputs, neither from the controller or touch screen.
I have not had this issue with other games. My deck has been restarted many times without fix. I have tried to verify file integrity without issue and I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times without it resolving.

hmm I've just tested it and everything seems OK on SteamDeck.

You can check if you maybe changed the controller layout. On SteamDeck while in-game press "STEAM" button > controller settings > again controller settings (white button in the lower part of the screen) > and under Current Layout it should be "Official Layout for Escape Simulator". If it's not there please select it from the menu. Let me know if that fixed the issue for you.

Still nothing unfortunately. And it will not register the touchscreen.

The game doesn't support touchscreen, but gamepad support should work fine. Actually, every game, even those without proper gamepad support, work great with SteamDeck. :\
Have you tried playing other games?

I've had no issues with other games. But for whatever reason this one does not respond to any game pad input. Is there a way to find my game files on the deck to send them to you?

You can find Player.log file if you go to the desktop mode of SteamDeck. Click STEAM button, Power, Switch to Desktop. There you can opet file explorer and go to : ~/.config/unity3d/CompanyName/ProductName/Player.log

I'll do that, but I found the silliest fix. I went into desktop mode to find the files, uninstalled and reinstalled which fixed it for whatever reason. But it wouldn't be fixed but uninstalling and reinstalling in game mode.

So sorry you had an issue, but this definitely sounds like SteamDeck bug. I'm glad everything is ok now. Have fun playing!

Is this fixed yet, I also can’t control anything and the official controller doesn’t appeal
