Report a translation problem
First of all, that is accurate. There is no split screen. You can either buy two copies, or just play on the same screen, solving puzzles together (also works fine).
The price dips are because of sales. You can wishlist the game and wait for the next sale to buy it at a more discounted price. Sales are pretty regular. As for the price in general, I wouldn't say 20$ for a game that has dozens of hours of quality content is to steep. But if you find that it is, you can always wait for a discount.
In general game isn't broken. There might be a odd bug here and there, but everything works as intended.
