There is a whole motion sickness part of the settings where you can try and match what helps you. For some people is turning off mouse acceleration, for other lowering brightness, etc - or you can just press the button to turn it all on.
Other than that - player height is an interesting one nobody mentioned yet. We'll add that one to the list. :)
Hey, thanks for the fast reponse!
I'm pretty prone to motion sickness unfortunately - and I also make games, so I feel like I usuaaaaly am pretty able to tell what's the problem - but it's kinda hard here. So far I believe it's the too fast mouse sensitivity + player being too tall (I tried the first egypt level)
I just played for half an hour with all motion sickness settings to on, and got quite some headache and sickness now. I tried crawling on the floor and that seemed to feel better.
The game seems to be pretty awesome, so I'll hope I can play more of it!
Hey Max, thanks for getting back to us! We hope you'll be able to find the right settings that will prevent most of the motion sickness for you so you can fully enjoy Escape Simulator. Please let us know if there's anything else we can help you with!
Sorry to hear that, Blackout! Thanks for your suggestion in regards to the Raw Mouse input option. I'll forward your suggestion to the developers. 🙂
Hey Blackout! The option you're looking for should already be there and is called Mouse Smoothing. You can find it under 'controls' after going to the general settings. Could you check if turning of the Mouse Smoothing improves your experience?
Secondly, the square box room is too small.. almost no space to walk and it cause getting motion sickness pretty quick.
By the way, setting the FOV to around 30 in option can also help a little but not enough.
Thanks for your valuable feedback and suggestions on this issue. We want all players to be able to full enjoy our game and regret that motion sickness is currently preventing that for some players. Could you confirm if this issue is equally present when playing the Cats In Time room, since this room is bigger than earlier rooms? Thanks in advance for your reply.
As nobody replied to you, I wanted to say that the only room I played with my girlfriend is the Cats in Time one and she got super sick, even if we tried turning the Motion Sickness options on (quite late into the room though).
Hope you guys will be able to pinpoint what's causing so much sickness for some people and fix it, as I'd love to play more of the game with her but I'm not sure she'd want to, given how bad she was feeling :/ I'll still try to have her tweak some more settings to see if that helps.
Really sorry to hear that your girlfriend experienced motion sickness while playing the Cats In Time room as well, Karl! Hopefully you'll still be able to find the right settings to help prevent motion sickness in the future. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into account!
i tried the demo and there is no motion sickness option, or did i overlook it? the first room really made me sick, but I would love to go on and now I dont know if I should purchase the game and try again. I am not sure the settings will help me but I will try it again and have a look at it. I have had motion sickness in games before, it always helped me to change the viewer perspective. Playing in first person perspective causes severe motion sickness everytime, but in third person perspective I can play these games. I would love to play your game with a third person perspective. I hope this is helpful :)
Hey Orkania! I believe the demo version does not include motion sickness settings, but the full game does! The full game does not include a third person perspective however. You could always try purchasing the game to try out the motion sickness settings and if it does not do the trick for you, you could always request a refund.
I honestly do feel like it's the player height weirdly enough, it gives a feeling of vertigo when standing.
i don't get motion sick normally, so i don't know if it's motion sickness or not.
Cause i tested it whilst standing still and not moving my mouse and i started feeling sick again when looking at the screen.
