Graphics settings keep automatically changing?

I play on a low-end PC so I usually lower the graphics settings. However, because of how bad the graphics look I just want to set it higher. But, whenever I go into a level with higher settings, the game keeps lowering it. I guess this is for better performance but I don't really care about the lag, and it's quite annoying that the game doesn't want me to play with lag apparently. Is it because of the game or my graphics card?

We have a feature that lowers your settings if the game starts to lag a lot.
In the next patch, we will expose that specific setting and you will be able to choose can the game lower the graphics automatically or not.
