Enemy Generation/Persistance

So does anybody know if there are a set number of enemy strike/missile/aircraft groups on the map from day 1 or do more join if you kill them off.

In the same vain, slight spoilers. Once you take khiva, do more spawn in to attack you.

Yes and Yes.

Maybe some new groups spawn at some point but I've never run it long enough for that.

There are 5 strike groups and 2 carrier groups at the start, if you kill all the strike groups, once you land in Khiva, one will spawn.

SO theres 5 strikes and 2 Aircraft carriers period? they dont get more as the compaign continues?

there are lots more than 2 aircraft carrier most like at least another 6 + at least another 6 strategic missiles group.

Pyotr shows at the debriefing the location of the 2 carriers and they're always around Khiva, if there are more, I haven't encountered them.

I can't guarantee consistency, but at least on normal you typically have about 6 Strike Groups. There are also around 6 Missile Groups and 6 Aircraft Groups. I believe you face double that number on Hard (so 12 missile/12 aircraft but still 6 strike groups).

When you secure Khiva one additional Strike Group will spawn, alongside the two Missile Carrier Groups.

Pyotr shows your main direction and his ideas of how enemy would position their army (and he knows nothing). Not exactly locations or numbers. For general run on medium, if you travel a lot, you will found at least 4 carriers like half way to Khiva. Also i think if you spent too much time, you will get new groups spawned.

There are a finite number of enemies in the game. Strike fleets, missile fleets, carrier fleets, garrisons, none of them respawn. There is only one case where enemies spawn in, which is after you take the Khiva reactor; 2 special missile fleets will spawn, and if you have already killed all the strike groups then one strike group will spawn.

Not so sure about "2 aircraft carriers"-- I'm on a normal difficulty run and I've already collected intel on 10 distinct missile carriers and a similarly large amount of aircraft carriers, it seems like there's quite a lot. However, I've also killed 5 strike groups and now can't collect new intel on any of those, so I think there's a total of 6 strike groups including the one I haven't killed (Varyag). Someone else in the thread is mentioning a limit of 12 of each type of carrier, I think that's likely how many there are.

6 strike groups, 12(24 on hard) tactical groups of either missile or aircraft carrier type and 30 convoys. None of them respawn.
