Missing Tarkhan?

I landed in a city and there was no ships there besides my landed interceptor. But i get a star marker above the city on the map which usually means a Tarkhan is present. There is none in the city though. Did something bug out again?

Are you sure you didnt land in a Fleet-HQ-city? I think those are marked with a Star (And a little Diskette-icon).

Tarkhans were never indicated with a special marker afaik. You only get the hint to the right of your screen "Far north of Ur" or the likes.

Nope same things happening in my save, Star over a city and nobody to talk to / no event to trigger!

guys - tarkhans are not marked on the map lol the star cities are not where you find them

There is a star over the cities where you have discovered tarkhans without talking to them. This is not the same star of the HQ cities.

I believe, but I'm not sure, that this problem happened to me on my first game (saw the Tarkhan, did something else then the tarkhan vanished).

The star is OVER the city. Not under it. This means a present tarkhan. When i landed in the city my mental autopilot was repairs, refuel and then back to the map to plan. If the tarkhan was there when i landed i did not notice at once. It was gone when i reentered the city in any case.

It also happened to me, the only way to fix it is to edit your save file and change the tarkhan location.

Call me a noob for asking, but where do i change the save file?

Found the save file location, i can find confirmation that the Tarkhan should be in the city i have landed in "Uz" the save file does say that is the end point but Tarkhan has still not spawned. How do i fix this?

I have found the save file but modifying it does not seem to reset the encounter. I can change the file but i am unable to respawn the Tarkhan in the city. Is there something i am missing?
