Highfleet Unofficial Ship Expansion Pack 3.0 'Iron Resurgence' Release
Highfleet Unofficial Ship Expansion Pack 3.0 'Iron Resurgence' Release

Description: These are ships I created to expand the roster of current ships in Highfleet, you can download each ship individually or the entire pack. This ship pack contains 20 ships that is great for anyone who enjoys using vanilla ships in their campaign but just wish there were more ships to choose from.

Objective: The goal was to create ships that fit in with Vanilla ship's aesthetics while filling in niche roles that I felt were missing in game or just needed more variety. Room has been left to allow players to customize/optimize these ships in the campaign shipworks. I really tried to make sure these ships didn't overstep their roles to make any vanilla ships irrelevant but rather simply adds to one's tactical options during ship selection. These ships were all made from scratch and took alot of time to work on so please be respectful. Note* These ships are NOT created to be the most optimized ships but rather made to be balanced closely with Vanilla ships while still having unique roles.

Lore: The Romani Empire posses a vast variety of ships, indeed, many ships have been created by both the Dynasty as well as individual houses. They range from combat vessels to common civilian vessels but all were made for a purpose. Ships created in the Romani Empire rarely travel anywhere outside of the empire or atleast rarely seen roaming around Gerat and tend to operate only within the Empire's borders. These are dark times however and the Romani fleet will use anything at their disposal to fight upcoming threats such as 'The Gathering', whatever their plans may be.

Editing/modifying permission: Once you download your free to do whatever you like with the ships but if you are planning to download, modify and re-upload my ships please give credit. These ships took along time to build and test so it would be unfortunate if someone re-uploaded and tried to take credit for my hard work. Thank you

Future plans: At this point with 20 ships created I'm going to take a break from making anymore ships but I will be managing the current ships and make any balance changes based on my own judgement, other's comments or if any Highfleet updates come through and rebalance everything. However, I will be making more ships in the future if I feel the need to make a ship the fills a role that the vanilla or my own ships don't cover. Also happy to hear any suggestions.

Download - https://1drv.ms/u/s!Avo53GMdVIU3vziACEuuvs7_dOdf?e=JzFxW7

Install Instructions: Download the Zip file in the link and extract the files into your Highfleet 'Ships' Directory and that's it! (Use a extractor tool such as Winrar or 7zip)

Typical file location is C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\HighFleet\Ships

Let me know if you have any questions or have any opinions about balancing, ship aesthetics or anything else. Please give examples, I'll do my best on what free-time I have to make any iterations to current designs.

*Corvettes*

These corvettes are mostly created for both filling niche roles as well as expanding the current options for some already present roles in the game from Vanilla ships.

Hornet*

Description: A Light Attack Corvette that is commonly used amongst Security forces or training vessels for Romani Academies. Often you will find the 'Hornet' used for patrolling trade routes or performing escort duty for slower cumbersome freighters.

Role/Author's Notes: This vessel is mainly for hit and run missions. Armed with a 57mm, 2 ASM and a single 1 ton bomb. For it's size and cost it packs quite a punch while being affordable enough to lose in combat without hurting your wallet. It is advised to not dogfight with this vessel for long as a single engine loss is gameover for this vessel. This vessel just adds another selection for the Light Corvette category.

https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198086525116/screenshots/

Firefly*

Description: A Interceptor Light Corvette that is often used for Fleet AA Support, Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare. Some assigned to this vessel may feel lucky while's others curse their misfortune as this vessel tends to be ahead of a task force often and hence is the line of fire often. While the vessel may not have any weaponry to defend itself it is armed with a wide range of electronic suites and AAMs which it can use not only to protect itself but to offer safety among any fleets/Strike groups.

Role/Author's Notes: The Firefly is a great utility crate that has no weapons of it's own to protection but has x6 R-9 Sprints, x2 MR-2Ms and x1 Jammer. It can defend friendly SG from incoming missing fire, perform short range recon and when can use a Jammer to either attract missiles away from your fleet/SG but also hide the true location of your fleet. With it's speed this vessel is very quick to respond to incoming threats while being cheap enough to not cause a dent in one's budget.

https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198086525116/screenshots/

Buffalo*

Description: The Buffalo, a true workhorse in any Romani Strike Group. This vessel was originally used to transport fuel and supplies to secluded locations before the Romani High Command found use for this vessel within smaller Strike Groups. Often this vessel will be performing rescue operations to logistical work within the Romani Fleet.

Role/Author's Notes: Another great utility vessel to have in addition to any Fleet/SG. While it's main role is to extend the range of a forward SG it's also great for scooping up remaining fuel from salvaging wrecks which overall saves time. With it's faster then average speed this tanker will be able to keep up with most SG. You can also use this vessel bring emergency fuel out to a stranded SG/fleet which should give them enough fuel to make it back to the nearest town to properly refuel. Also can fly to towns nearby your fleet to stock up on fuel and return to any SG/fleet which will overall cut some time off how long your fleet will need to stay in town refueling. The vessel is also armed with x2 37mm which though may not be enough to defend against missiles itself will be an addition to your AA screens in SGs or fleets. An overall great addition to any Fleet/SG

https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198086525116/screenshots/

Vulture*

Description: The terror in the sky, many soldiers fear this vessel as it picks off ground targets one by one before disappearing from the battlefield. The Romani Fleet's engineers were at it again with the fearsome firepower this Corvette brings onto any foes unfortunate enough to be on the ground in this vessel's presence. Specializing in striking fast and true most victims unfortunate enough to come across this vessel typically are not aware of what even hit them, hence why the crew's for these vessels tend to be heartless & cruel individuals.

Role/Author's Notes: Similar to the Rook this vessel specializes in attacking ground targets while having the designation of 'Interceptor Corvette' due to it's high top speeds. The 'Vulture' is armed with x4 1 ton bombs and x1 220mm Rocket Launcher which gives it quite the punch on unexpected garrison that have yet to take off. Capable of destroying grounded Corvettes - Frigates with ease while seriously crippling Cruiser class vessels this is the answer to a heavier version of the Rook. Specializing particularly in hit and run tactics you should fly in, drop the bomb payload and do 2-3 strafing runs with it's rockets before retreating since the 'Vulture' is very lightly armored and mainly relies on it's speed for it's protection. If fortunate enough to level up the crew this vessel can become a real tyrant in surprise attacks.

https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198086525116/screenshots/

Harpy*

Description: The Harpy is a Attack Corvette this is known for it's greater then average dogfighting capabilities. Although the Harpy was intended to replace the Navarin it did not live up to High Command's expectations of an all rounded general attack craft and so is instead used for Escort missions & Air superiority in small conflicts. This vessel is however renowned for it's survivability and is highly sought-after from Academy Graduates for it's ability of returning to dry-dock with damage that would cripple most ships of it's class.

Role/Author's Notes: The Harpy is an impressive dog-fighting vessel with it's high thrust/weight ratio, significant armor amount and small size making it very difficult to destroy this vessel. As long you know when you retreat this vessel will time and time again survive battles that for most ships in it's class be destroyed. Armed with x1 55mm, x1 100mm and x4 ASM this vessel packs a punch and is best to do strafing attack runs before putting distance between you and incoming fire. With lot's of room for improvements this vessel can last an entire campaign with significant use still if proper logistics is provided for this vessel.

https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198086525116/screenshots/

Shortbow*

Description: The Shortbow is the predecessor to the Longbow as a Carrier Heavy Corvette. An aging chassis that nowadays mostly used by security forces to enforce trading routes from pirates. It's tight hallways and limited space makes this vessel unpleasant for most crews serving on this vessel although provides safety for those who want to survive their military careers due to common roles this vessel is tasked with. The average Romani Navy Pilot will have served atleast a few years on a Shortbow before being promoted to a larger carrier vessel.

Role/Author's Notes: I'll be honest I created this ship before I knew the 'Slingshot' existed but I still made modifications to make the Shortbow a decent option for some. Armed with a single 37mm it will not counter many incoming missiles on it's own but rather add to a SG/fleet's Anti Air screen. At a higher cost then the Slingshot you are getting a Light Carrier Vessel that is faster, longer range, assists with Anti-Air coverage and has room for x2 LA-29s as well as x2 T7s. Able to provide light aircraft coverage/capabilities to any slower SGs without slowing them down with it's faster top speed then the 'Slingshot'. A interesting choice for some while not a worthy choice for others, depending on who you ask.

*Frigates*

These are vessels that cover the mid to mid-heavy classifications. The goal was to both cover missing roles from vanilla ships to simply adding more variety to the choices for this class of ships.

Wolf*

Description: TBD

Roles/Author's Notes: This vessel fills the role of Search & Destroy. With it's decent speed and above average range (for it's class) with the assistance of IRST this vessel hunts in the night. Even though this vessel has lower firepower then most in it's class it's thrust/weight ratio along with it's smaller size (for it's class) makes it a hard target to hit. Recommended tactic for this vessel is strafing attacks and Hit & run.

Brute*

Description: TBD

Role/Author's Notes: An alternative to other attack frigates the Brute is a nice option to add some extra firepower to a SG. Armed with x2 Mk1 180mm and a single x1 55mm it's nothing to laugh at. Although it may not have the alpha damage of Mk2 180mm it generally have a higher sustain damage overall. It's weakspots are on top and bottom so try to be level with your target and keep on the move with the vessel's decent thrust.

Raven*

Description: TBD

Role/Author's Notes: The big brother of the 'Firefly' this vessel can provide great AA defense to any SG/fleet. The Raven is armed with only x2 57mm so although it may not have passive defense it's active AA defense is fantastic. This is also the mid-range Jamming vessel that you can purchase, use the jammers to disrupt incoming missiles or attract anti-radiation missiles to itself to keep other vessels safe and eliminate incoming threats. The Raven Mk2 is similar to it's Mk1 counterpart but at a higher price you receive longer range Radar/tracking as well as x2 A100 Missiles for eliminating incoming enemy vessels or missiles.

Scimitar*

Description: The Scimitar is a Heavy Attack Frigate that is a popular raiding vessel commonly used by Pirate Warlords operating within Romani Empire Airspace. The original origins of this vessel in unknown as it only started appearing in the last decade or so. Romani Fleet Engineers were dispatched to a crash site of one of these vessels that was shot down by security forces after a failed raid attempt of a Romani Trade Vessel to study the designs which proved complicated as there were many variations of this vessel from different pirate groups. It was only when this vessel was confiscated whole that Fleet Engineers were able to draw out the schematics of this vessel. Even though these vessels are present in such low numbers within the Romani Fleet it's fast speed for it's class and firepower present a great use for special operations within the Romani Navy.

Role/Author's Notes: As the cheapest of the Romani's Heavy Attack Frigates this Vessel features decent speed for it's class with more firepower then your average frigate class, offering those who want a ship capable of traveling solo while still having enough firepower to eliminate most Gathering garrisons. Although it has enough range to travel solo it is best used with some support to protect the vessel from incoming missiles. With it's top-speed being the fastest in it's class this vessel provides extra firepower to SG without impacting that SG's cruising speed too much. Be very cautious in taking this ship to compete against similar/larger class vessels.

https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198086525116/screenshots/

Pilgrim*

Description: Traveling Caravans and nomads have always been in danger of attacks from pirates & raiders in secluded areas within the Romani Empire's boarders. The solution that was created was the Pilgrim which is a Heavy Auxiliary Frigate. The Pilgirm has become a mainstay amongst Carvan and Nomad fleets for protecting their small fleets from pirates & raiders to deliver their goods to Romani Cities. Romani High Command found interest in the Pilgrim after observing the dropping rates of reported losses within Caravans and Nomads fleets. Now the Pilgrim chassis has been modernized to take on the role as support vessels in expeditionary fleets that travel to distant lands.

Role/Author's Notes: The Pilgrim is the only Auxiliary option within the Heavy Frigate class, offering long range, decent firepower and a significant enough AA presence to defend fleets/SGs from incoming missiles and plane strikes. When you want a vessel simular to the Wanderer but with more firepower and survivability the Pilgirm is your solution. The vessel also offers a decent electronic suite to give your SG a early warning when enemy SG's are incoming on your SG's position.

https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198086525116/screenshots/

Drake*

Description: A brand new vessel within the Romani Fleet, the Drake. While still in the live testing phase in it's development a few of these vessels have been assigned to the Romani Fleet as a Cruiser-hunter. With budgets getting tight within the Romani Fleet many have wondered the purpose of this vessel in non-wartime conditions although still favored and pushed through development anyways by High Command for the need of a siege craft, capable of grinding any bunkers or cruisers alike to dust with it's sheer amount of explosives, this vessel is not to be taken lightly.

Role/Author's Notes: The Drake is the second heaviest of the Heavy Frigate line, armed with x2 220mm rocks, x3 57mm and x6 ASMs battlefield placement is everything with this vessel. With proper decision making and aim this vessel can melt through all but the heaviest class vessels with ease. With a high skill requirement to get the most out of this vessel however some may be reluctant to using this vessel until further experience is gained with understanding the characteristics of 220mm rockets. With it's higher amount of armor then most however this vessel does leave some room for mistakes before needing to retreat. The Drake is also the second fastest among the Heavy Frigate line although not by much. Can also be used as a Heavy Strike craft to devastating effect.

*Cruisers*

This class of vessels are mainly just for covering any missing roles among the vanilla ships to some degree.

*Orca*

Description: The Orca has been around since the very beginning of the Romani Dynasty and is greatly valued for it's importance during the early times of the Romani Empire. Several iterations have been made over the ages but overall still fills the same role since it's creation, transporting vast quantities of fuel and supplies within the Romani Empire. Crewmen assigned to this vessel can expect a quite and secluded life when traveling across popular & well-defended trade routes but is always wary of pirates when traveling less known trade routes. Since the early days of the Romani Navy the Orca has always been the main-stay of any logistical operations. However most but the oldest Romani Citizens have forgotten the origins of where the Orca received it's name.

Role/Author's Notes: The Orca is designated as a Auxiliary Light Cruiser that operates as a large fuel tanker. Capable to performing similar roles to ships such as the 'Buffalo' or 'Tanker' but at a much larger scale. Due to it's slower speed it's primary role is to stick with any Fleet's Flagship and supply fuel to any other ships within that fleet. A useful feature of the Orca is it's AAM capabilities, giving the Orca the capability of traveling alone to liberated towns and countering incoming missiles. A useful tactic with this vessel is after a SG has cleared a garrison at a town send the Orca ahead of the fleet with minimal fuel to reach the town to begin refueling before the main fleet/flagship arrives to get an early start with refueling, therefore limiting the time your flagship needs to stay at a town during refueling. You can also send this ship to fuel depots where you can buy fuel for cheap to deliver fuel back to your fleet without compromising the position of your fleet. The tactical options are endless with this vessel, at a cost.

https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198086525116/screenshots/

*Centurion*

Description: Once a powerful vessel within the early days of the Romani fleet, the Centurion was the Crown jewel in early Aerial combat and broadside combat. Now the vessel is a ageing hull that still remains in service but only in back-line duties. The vessel has been retrofitted with more modern electronics but is limited by it's ageing wiring and power circuits. Due to it's relatively cheaper maintenance then most ships the Romani High Command choose to continue to use these vessels for backline duties until sufficient damage is received from combat that makes repair cost in-efficient to perform and that Centurion is scraped.

Roles/Author's Notes: The Centurion is a Light Attack Cruiser that although lacks large caliber weaponry can still put of quite a fight. It relies on large volume of fire rather then strong alpha strikes to wither away it's targets. With it's x6 57mm and x4 37mm weapons it's also able to perform AA duties against enemy strike craft or Missiles. This vessel is meant to fill in the price gap between your average Light Cruiser and Heavy Frigates and with it's slightly cheaper price of it's class it can sometimes make the difference is squeezing in another desired vessel into your fleet. Recommended tactics is keeping level with your targets since firing broadside will give the best angle for a majority of your 57mms to be able to open fire on your target.

*Archer*

Description: TBD

Role/Author's Notes: The Archer is a Carrier Light Cruiser that is the next step up from the 'Longbow', with a courteous amount of planes, Anti-Air with it's x4 37mm and Electronic Suite this vessel is great support for any fleet. When you want more then the 'Longbow' but don't have the 'Novorossiysk' as your flagship this is your next best option. Either keep this vessel with your flagship or assign some escorts to this vessel and it will serve you well through your playthroughs.

https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198086525116/screenshots/

*Rostislav*

Description: Once the Flagship of the Romani Dynasty, the Rostislav was truly a fearsome combat vessel, capable of outmatching any other vessels in firepower during the 10 years of peace. Now due to high cost of maintaining this vessel and newer technology along with more modern vessels the Rostislav has been recently been decommissioned. That is until a state of emergency was declared by Romani High Command due to the upcoming threat of 'The Gathering' that this vessel was taken out of decommission. Now the Rostislav again defends the Romani Empire, although with aging electronics and technology it's firepower still more then a match for most of the Romani Empire's enemies.

Role/Author's Notes: The Rostislav is a Flagship vessel, geared towards those who want to use their Flagship merely as a wrecking ball and leave dedicated logistics/ electronic warfare to more role dedicated ships. With the age of the Rostislav it has lower then average sensor ranges that leave more to be desired but make up for it with both powerful 180mm weapons and sheer volume of fire with it's x8 57mm weapons. Compared to other Flagships the Rostislav has slightly lower DPS with it's main weaponry but higher alpha in general. Higher top speeds then other Flagships makes this vessel also capable to outmaneuvering some enemy SGs to allow you to pick the terms of the engagement. Rely on your more specialized vessels for other roles and let the Rostislav plow it's way through most opposition. A tip with this vessel is if possible keep the targets front and leveled of your vessel to maximize your alpha strikes but even if that's not possible you'll still have plenty of firepower to throw at your enemies.

Oooh this is nice. Thank you.

Best ships addition that I have seen since the release of the game.
I like that they have a background and a real identity.

Hey everyone, thanks for trying out my ship pack and I'm so excited over all the positive reactions to this project of mine.

Already have a few more ships in the works currently, while it's too soon to give any dates to when they'll will be ready for release I'll be sure to post any updates on here and Highfleet's subreddit.

Here's a question, what is your favorite ship in the ship pack so far?

Thanks again and fly safe!

Really nice looking ships!

You should share it on the discord (the official and the unofficial).

This thread highlights why Ship Sharing should get native support. It's just two files per ship if my tests are correct...

Yeah I imagine that it's not if but when Highfleet will have Steam Workshop support and when it does I'll be sure to lots of content for this ship pack :3

And yes two files per a ship is correct

Glad to hear that I included this thread in my short little guide about ship sharing. Seems you're the only one so far to even try sharing. I actually tried testing my theory with a friend but they didn't want to take in an external files so... That was the end of that.

Hey everyone!

So I've been hard at work and you know what, we're skipping all the other numbers and going right to version 2.0! In this update I have made some balance changes as well at 6 new ships, including a new Flagship! These new ships help cover the classes I either couldn't get to, didn't notice till after 1.0 or simply add more variations to what is currently in this ship pack.

Here are the update notes:

Buffalo - Changes the reinforced hull parts to regular hull parts, this is to reduce the price of the vessel and slightly increase it's range to perform better at it's role. This change was also made to give more freedom for players to edit the ship in their campaign, also I figured if you run into trouble that you really need that extra hull health your probably in a situation that you won't make it out of X_x

Vulture - Reduced 1 ton bomb count from x4 to x2, this is because with x4 1 ton bombs the Vulture was kind of starting to make the 'Rook' kind of irrelevant and the Vulture an obvious better choice. Also most players will have their hands full with simply aiming it's rocket weaponry alone yet alone also trying to make use of all it's bombs. However, if you prefer the older ver of the Vulture some easy edits in the campaign will revert the vulture right back to how it is before, I just didn't want the Vulture to look like the obvious choice against the 'Rook' during ship selection.

Orca - Reduced radar/tracking range, the Orca with it's 390km radar range before was kind of making it the swiss knife so both Early warning, AA and Tanker roles. I wanted the vessel to have radar//tracking for AA coverage but not overlap vessels that specialize in Early Warning/AA defense roles. Also the Orca now has a animated Crane for your logistic needs!

Archer - Fixed a graphical bug with the bridge looking strange, everything else is the same.

6 new vessels covering Frigates, Light Cruiser and a new Heavy Cruiser Flagship!

I'm tired so will be taking a break for a bit while I just sit back and enjoy/further playtest my current builds but will make any changes again in the future after Highfleet Balance Updates.

Hope you all enjoy these changes & new ships and please feel free to make any suggestions or ask any questions.

Enjoy and fly safe!

Well that's a shame, I also noticed that not alot of people were sharing builds and the ones who were sharing were just making death bricks practically. I couldn't find anyone making Vanilla style ships so decided I would just make it myself :3

That's unfortunate about your friend but also I understand how some people feel about external files. For all it's worth I always clean/scan any files before sharing just for everyone's safety who download my ship pack and I strongly urge for anyone to contact me if they find anything malicious.

@Elestrin Hey there, so nothing against you nor your build, this thread is meant for showcasing, questions and updates regarding the Ship Pack I created. It is not a thread for anyone to simply post their builds, although I have a pretty good guess why you posted your build here.

If you wish to show off your ship feel free to create a dedicated thread regarding your ship/ships but please refrain from posting your builds in this thread please.

Thank you

For everyone else: The build above is not associated to the Ship pack in this thread and I hold no responsibility nor ownership for anything found in their shared download link.
Elestrin Sep 13, 2021 @ 9:12am
Oh, man, noone cares here about threading))) You'd rather made an article in "Modding" section of tutorials, because without bumping, this thread will drawn)

Let's make some action)

I've shown the blueprints of "Brute" to my engineering team. Some young guys laughed quietly, but the next day the whole team asked me to share the blueprint and the covenant of the workshop. Also there might be some notes from the main Constructor. You may not read them, he is kinda arrogant man.

"Hidden Shipyard Covenant:
- No need of roofs. Comfort is for the weeklings.
- Cannons are your fists. Ammo is your arms. A fist is useless when connected to a cut-out arm.
- Gimb. engines are your feet. The wider they stand, the more hard it takes to overturn you.
- Chassis is like footgear. The lighter your boots are, the longer you will run
- Fuel is your lifetime. Treat it accordingly.
- While overpopulating or overgenerating, you are feeding your enemy.
- The cabin is your eyes. Keep hands close to them in combat, otherwise you may miss.
- It's less worse to take damage in profile, rather then full-face. Your 2x1 equip also think so.

Notes:
Dear Constructor,
Let me introduce, some engineering technics, how we build ships here in the sands of Gerat. Here is a recombined Brute of yours. The external appearance is still the same, but look, how much useless space are you having here. And look at the resulting stats.

Brute_m [drive.google.com]

Maybe you there in your Emperial Legions don't pay attention to it, but here in Gerat 10 km/h may save your life. It's better to be an impudent living, than vanilla-smelling deadman. Here we pay attention to every detail, because wise-man said, the Devil is hiding there.

With best wishes,
Hidden Shipyard staff"

Here are some signatures, but not much, because not many of ours can read at all.
