I played the game for 2 hours (performing 3 shows before quitting). I played in 2 sessions of one hour each.
I hate to say it but my ability to have fun was really hampered in not knowing what the heck I was doing. I did the tutorial but it was VERY basic and only really covered an exact match scenario as far as wording went. Just like elawerence describes in another post, I didn't understand what references to "pile" meant, and a few other card explanations were confusing as well. I didn't understand whether "ignore" included some of the special effects that the spectators had, and in particular, a show in Portland against a cowboy (can't remember name) and a priest or pastor - sometimes I would get him down to 2 life remaining and use an impress card on him and then it would refill his life to 20 all over again. I understand he had a card stating he must be delighted, but many of the times the impress would take him a pretty high amount that seems like it should have been adequate.
I also didn't like that every time I ran out of cards or required more that it was a 5 point penalty to all of my performers. Half of their life every other turn is harsh. It's pretty difficult to make much progress against the spectators using one card each turn only. It also seemed like the spectators could start with some pretty heavy sneering and such right off the bat before they really even witnessed much of the show.
Unlike elawerence, I did not find any random bonuses or anything on the map. To be quite honest, out of the 3 shows I performed, I only once had a victory for 400ish dollars, so the rest of the time I was nearly bankrupt after clearing hoaxes that would doom me. Then I would spend what little bit of money I could on food, only to get on the road and not be able to eat it.
The thing that bothered me the most in the game is that there is no way to see what was taught in the tutorial - a reference of sorts explaining what the various parts of the card meant - I remembered only that the bottom circle represented the grand finale but couldn't remember what the top ball meant. The descriptions on the cards REALLY confused me. About the only ones I really understood were impress, ignore, stash a ball and then all the balls x a certain amount for impress. Everything else was a guess, and I didn't understand anything to do with the deck or pile descriptions or mechanics. Also, in the cookout tent, hovering over what the 3 items that were going to be affected by what you ate wouldn't even remind you of what they meant so I was in the dark about that as well. I remember in the tutorial at one point it mentioned pay attention to what kind of card it is and it gave "awe" as an example. But it never disclosed what the other types were or showed us a key/legend for them.
I'm sorry but I found the game increasingly frustrating (due to not knowing what the heck I was doing) and just not fun in its current state. I was actually really excited when I saw all the tents you could work with but very upset to see the high cost of EVERYTHING. Honestly, I feel like a lot of the things - instead of being $200 should have been $50. Being able to afford one thing and one thing only and ONLY if you are winning performances to make money is not going to keep anybody interested. It just makes you feel like you are on a losing path - maybe you have a hoax you can't afford to remove, maybe you feel like you'd like to train someone for a better outcome, maybe you'd like to try a new performer, but you really can't do 99% of what would make this game fun. And please, please, please make the tutorial MUCH more complete - explain in detail EVERY type of card and expression of the card. Explain every detail of the things that can be used against your performers. Have a key/legend for all symbols in the game and make it so that if you hover over ANY aspect of the game, you get a full explanation of what it means.
Best of luck to you with your game.
It would be great if someone would have already, or would now go through the entire game with grammar and spell check, for the English version of the game. I understand that some of the game dialog is supposed to come across (be read) as a certain dialect/accent, but that does not excuse any of the poor grammar or spelling mistakes.
Thank you, devs for finally opening up an ongoing, official forum thread outside of Discord, for collecting feedback.
what is the difference between sneers 3 times 1 and sneers 1 times 2?
if i forget to do the fanale does my next action reset the points fill bar?
is there any strategy for the poster/parade/advertising? for example large and wealthy cities benefit more from advertising while a small town benefits from a parade?
a female main character option would be nice

/typo in twister bill event- but he 'get' a negative quirk. should be 'gets'
state names should be revealed on the map. having to google a map of the country because a event tells you to go to a state that hasn't been revealed.
