Adding multiplayer to the game.

I have read through and have seen that multiplayer has been thought about, but is probably not in development. However, because this is a unity game, I was wondering if the community could attempt to mod in multiplayer, I am really good at programming myself, but not an expert at multiplayer, I would assume a mod would require LAN or port forward peer-to-peer connection. But it is still a cool idea to mod into this game (just requires a lot of effort).

Started to just look into modding this game, damn, if I wanted to attempt to add multiplayer just to play with my brother or some friends, this might take a while, and yes, I'm still aware, the devs have heard enough people talk about multiplayer lol.

I'm gonna try and beat the game first before I try to really deep dive into this. The first thing I would try to do, is add a button to the main menu, I wouldn't change the game, just add a little change to attempt to add multiplayer.
