Most comprehensible/least narcissistic Dead By Daylight poster.
Can you point to anywhere in my post where I said that too?
I mean, insta-kills don't directly translate to the "Scary-o-meter"
It takes time to rev up for an overhead attack.
It's fairly easy to juke/bait.
It's completely foiled by crawlspaces and even doors.
No Sell/Leland stun/Ana proc all shut it down.
If 1 overheard+followup swings are seen as too OP, then logically the alternative is 2 overheads+followup swings.
So my question is then, why would the already small playerbase of Leatherface players subject themselves to requiring 2 overheads back to back on the same victim given the above complications, when they could kill the same victim as an HH/Sissy etc with regular swings in half that time?
In order of your points:
1. He is loud
2. It takes about four to five seconds, and then you can keep it going infinitely unless you have to stop to open a door.
3. 'Fairly easy' is dependent on the leatherface player. (I haven't missed often at all)
4. It is.
5. Those are entirely seperate balancing considerations that should also be looked at. Just because there's two niche counters doesn't make it any less fun for someone not running No Sell.
If I were to personally put my foot in, the overhead is supposed to be a finisher or chaser to knock down a victim running in long areas. Such as toward the road on house. Once they're knocked down other family can catch up, if present.
I think the combo that should be encouraged is using the rev to close distance, normal hitting a couple times, and then overheading. AS OPPOSED to being stunlocked by an overhead, and then hit instantly by the followup before overheat. One way to do this is to make it so the overhead turns off the chainsaw normally, regardless of perks or stats.
But- I'm not a balancing dude, and frankly my only consideration is that 2 hit builds are kinda lame to play against. That's /all/ I care about in this case. If it continues to be a trend it'll be a contributing factor for why I stop playing. (And yes, stun locking LF is also one of those factors)
I play quickmatch and enjoy both sides, so I'm speaking from that point of reference but anyway, I'll try to make it make sense:
Insta-die is poo poo, pee pee. No fun fun. Ug Ug no like.
Did that help?
I will clarify what I meant by niche:
No sell can only be taken by Julie, Ana, and Leland. Which means that Sonny particularly is left out of a counter.
