If you want jump scares I would say the Insidious movies. I'm a horror movie guru and most things don't scare me now but Insidious still gives me the willies. As of Slashers I'm really digging the Scream Series.

I just watched the first Nun movie last night with fiance. She was even making me jump since she's not into horror movies.

Slasher is a subgenre for horror movies.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and The Thing are my favorites of all time. Love Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street as well.

People probably won't agree with me but The Grudge movies as well as The Ring movies scare the hell outta me

I appreciate the Japanese horrors, they're a gem.
I dunno if it's really considered a horror movie but it is creepy I liked The Terrifier.

I love the TCM films, also a big fan of slapstick comedy horror like Evil Dead, Braindead, Re-animator, etc.

Terrifier is a slasher so it is a horror.

Too many favorites, I'd probably go with the original Halloween. Scared me as a kid.
I remember Saw gave me nightmares too
