Danny's tamper is permanent, even with the 30s cooldown perk from Hands, there's still 40s where a tampered object can be refitted and no other family can touch it.
Not to mention on Mill there is enough objects to study and tamper 3 main objectives immediately - and depending on toolbox spawns, you might even manage the 4th.
As for his ability, it can be tedious until you have the 60% increase and instant study (basement door, electric gates, etc) and when applying his ability -if it will 100%, do not tap until the bar has finished filling, you don't add anything otherwise and only have to tap once to complete it.
I personally only ever tamper Fuse and Valve because they're the easiest to bounce back and forth between and if you've got a good map rng, like Gas station, it's a matter of slipping through a crack and locking a door to force them round the long way.
