Why are we getting Maria as a victim??

The whole game is based on finding Maria and finding out what happened to her..

The whole Maria as a victim is just to build up hype and have more players play the game again.. But it does NOT match up with the lore, If you have to play a single player mode to earn Maria then i do not care if shes a victim.

Johnny, Cook, and even some of the victims voice lines talk about how Maria is dead..

The reveal game to get people hype for this game even shows how Maria was kidnapped and killed..

But hear me out.. If Marias dead body is on every map if she is not choose then i will not complain..

they are desperate for money at this point, that's the reason, they know their game is dying so they will milk their playerbase as much as possible

guys stop this money thing, change perspective. This attitude is boring. If you want blame someone for moneymaking, DbD is around the croner. Jesus...so who is Maria?

Ill be a bit more restrained on that and guess, devs simply not having enough working material to pick from. TCM, unless start adding random people as "secondary" Victims, wont have a big roster of chars by default.

Even The Evil Dead game had small problems with its roster, because "The Main" characters pretty much starting and ending on Ash, because within 3 own movies and series - hes the only guaranteed survivor. ED devs even added hes dad and medieval smith to extend the roster, but I have no idea whom in terms of "Victims" TCM devs can pull this way out currently owned IPs.

Maria is Ana's sister, its the whole reason the game takes place.

Ana takes Maria's friends and goes to go find Maria. Then the group gets kidnapped and the whole group gets killed.

If Maria is alive then it would just mess up the games lore, voice lines, etc.

Johnny says, "Come on, your friend put up a better fight then this..' and, "Want to see how your friend died? I can show you..!"

Cook says, "Look, I'm sorry about your friend.." and something about Johnny flirting with Maria and how cook didn't want Johnny to have no child.

Ana even says "This is for Maria!" as if she is dead..

i could easily think of like 3 victims off the top of my head they could add and with lore to fit, devs are lazy.
