If by balance you mean making no point to having it off and questioning why there's even an option to turn it off and why does it start off then yes.
Leatherface should be the main killer and the rest of the family should be side killers guarding exits.
I am tired of seeing side characters of the family going after one person and then cry when they lose so easily cause they leave the rest of the gates unguarded, it just doesn't make any sense.
