first asymmetrical horror game that is actually scary
congrats gun media. this game isn't "scary" like visage or a psychological horror game, but when one of the family members is chasing you and you're desperately looking for an escape path, it is INSANE

Those games become less scary because we know them by heart, like dbd.
It's not about how scary the game is, play welcome to the game 2 first time and you're gonna be scared ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, 200 hours in and its just like playing any other game.

getting chased in games scares me.

This is only the honeymoon phase, where people have no idea what they're doing. When it becomes more technical and people start looking at stats, perk combos, strategies, etc. The game will lose all of its scare factor. It's a shame, but it happens with every multiplayer horror game.

I definitely get Outlast vibes when getting chased. Some tweaks before release and I can see this being a successful game.

I really only get the 'Outlast vibe' when its Leatherface. Hearing him revving that chainsaw right behind me while I'm desperately looking for anything to help me, brings on that OH ♥♥♥♥ OH ♥♥♥♥ OH ♥♥♥♥ panic mentality. Especially in the basement, haha.

I find it more tense than scary, like running towards an exit that is about to close or scape before someone turns the generator back on. But it is by far the most fun i have had in a game of this genre.

no i think its still gonna be scary, that game is unpredictable and when time goes by they might update it more and have new kills and more suspense when it comes to chasing the victims

the game is like an actual movie, when you finally find your way out the house in the family house map and you see the exit from afar, and when your about to escape one of the killers chase you and ur there just bleeding out. Like its just so scary and realistic to the point that it scares you

Game is fun and tense, but scary isnt a thing in multiplayer games, at least i dont feel scared when playing with people. The tension is there tho, specially running towards a closing exit with the family on your ass.

I couldn't said it better myself lol. That's probably why i mostly played family even tho i still don't uderstand the fuse box that much (mostly on slaughterhouse i much hate basement on that map) and how valve escape works i enjoyed the team play aspects of the killers team. Always tried to do my part as securing objectives with Cook/Hitchiker, or destroing the barricades, and getting that killing pressure as Leatherface. Game is a lot of fun just needs some small balance fixes, polishing, and constant new content coming out :microraptor:

Theres nothing scarier than running to the exit thinking you are about to make it then family turns the gen back on and you are trapped there and all 3 of them are running up to you I love that so much the fear is there and you know there is a good chance you will not make it to the well on time to escape your doom.

It stopped being scary after the first two games for me. Then once I figured out that playing loud goes unpunished, I went on a dozen or so escape streak. Just like in DbD honestly.

Wait until families actually communicate and know their roles, during the test most cooks were dead weight that didnt even use his ability, and didnt communicate at all.
