There needs to be an Idle kick-out warning.
Just had a great match, was solid teams on both sides. As Victim, the Family caught wind of our location in the outer yard (Family House) and was scouring the bushes to find us. Naturally, we weren't moving to avoid the obvious spot. But the patrol just kept going and going. First Bubba, then Hitch, then both of them. There was no point when there wasn't someone patrolling the Gen/Bat. Out of nowhere, my teammate gets kicked. And 2 seconds later, before he could even tell me it was cause he was considered Idle, I was kicked as well.

Now I know, here comes the influx of "Maybe get better," "Escape faster," "Idle timer is X length long, how could you be sitting around that much." Blah, blah, blah. But there should be a timer warning, even a 5 second one just to give the person the idea that it's been too long. It should not just be, black screen -> Main menu.

Rant over. lmao.

I highly doubt that there is something like an "idle kick" in the game.

You and your friend got kicked most likely because of a connection issue that happens from time to time with the game. Happened to me and 2 friends when running around multiple times as Killer and Victim.

You know it is about to happen when you can't interact anymore, stamina not recovering and more.

Idle kicks aren't a thing in the game, you would have been kicked off because of network error or some other issue with the unoptimisation.

Ah, if its around a 30 second timer then that's probably why I didn't know because I've been idle for less than that amount of time. My apologies.

even if you move around in a bush for some reason it still doesn't deactivate the timer, so it needs to be fixed tbh, it counts u as afk if ur idle in one spot for too long

Hm, as in like if you move a slight bit or if you move around into different parts of the bush? Because I would try move around as much as I can without being seen but never got the idle kick. It's weird that it does that though, I thought the idle kick would only be for when your character is still for too long and not for when you're clearly moving even if still in the same area.

never had that happen, you mean moving the camera or moving your character?

because moving the camera still counts it as an idle kick

Moving the camera doesn't do anything to stop the timer. Moving around in the bush seems to only reset the timer if you actually move from bush to bush. Did a bit of testing and it seems that as long as you're not sitting in the same portion of a bush the game won't kick you. Meaning you have to actually make your characters feet do a movement cycle. Could be a bit off on the specifics of it, I didn't test that in depth. But at least making your character do a full movement motion helps.

getting stuck in a wall and performing a movement cycle or other actions with your character will still count it as an idle kick

this seems more likely

idle kick is real I think it's like minutes tho, not seconds.
