I don't understand Sonny

Ability is made for stealthing around but stats are for loud playstyle. How do I play him without leveling full stealth or ignoring his ability?

After playing him for a couple of days and experimenting with his skill tree and perks actually pretty underrated yet strong character nonetheless.

I think it would be fitting if they moved his ability to Julie (since her stealth is very easy to level up to maximum, you can improve her proficiency quite a bit too) so she would become an ultra stealth victim and give Julie's ability to Sonny to make him a better runner.

I mean his power does not neceserily need to be used for stealth, you can rush upstairs as soon as you get "terror radious" you use your power to see where the killer is so you can choose where to run to so you do not just run towards the killer.

yeah I kinda agree, his endurance stat also feels like it's should be 40 like Leland got 40 strength so he is loud but pretty hard to catch up to. While Leland is loud but can stun you for longer time durations.

I think Sonny is underrated at the moment, much like Julie. Other characters are better, sure, but they're pretty viable imo. His toughness stat is bricked though, sadly.

I can’t believe Julie is underrated. She’s so insanely good. I play Family > Victim by a 3-1 margin but dang Julie gets me so many escapes with so little effort compared to the others.

You don't need stealth stat as much if you can already see where they are moving from and towards. Instead, if you clearly see someone running towards you, and it has a terror radius, you can decide to hide or kite them.

I also find it useful to quickly determine's gramp's location and do a quick stab for 500pts. You can also see if family members are running towards gramps for the feeding, so it makes it even easier to plan out your assault.

In the same vain, you can see if a teammate is being chased, and help them by backstabbing the Family member chasing them.

nah she isnt everyone uses her only sonny is underrated and ana a little

Actually gonna bump this, you can make all stats 30+ for Sonny, makes him universal at anything and his ability can actually be used in chases too, really underrated character.
