It's sad actually...
Seeing people that can't find lobbies on DBD because they are leaking players, and then coming here to whine about this game that they don't even own , is just ... sad.

Here are a few things for you.

1. This game has more players at launch than DBD had. DBD had 17k , this one had 15k ON PC ALONE with another 30+ on consoles totalling around 45k.

2. The devs already said and -leaked- 2 new maps , 2 new characters incoming with all of them being FREE!!!

3. The only DLC's that will exist will be on SKINS and Family Execution times.

4. N-O-B-O-D-Y cares if the number of players drop on the PC to 10k. You still find matches WAY sooner that you could ever do in DBD. Coming here to cry about the game "dying" in hopes to get players back in DBD so you can finally find a looby is not smart.

5. If your potato PC can run DBD on ultrawide, lowest res (so you can see survivors hidding) in those 5 pixels that you call "grass" then its fine. Just don't expect to run a game with decent 2020 graphics.

Overall , enjoy the game , stop whining about your precious DBD going on a downward slope and feel free to be mad about other people being happy that something fresh is here.
This ain't F13, this ain't VHS or Army of the Dead. This is something that's actually fun.

Ummm F13 was actually much more fun than this, also its Evil Dead, not army of the dead(??). TCSM is basically a mix between Evil Dead and DBD. I am in no way supporting DBD, nor their toxic player base, but to trash F13 that started this genre is backwards...

I liked F13 , don't get me wrong. But the game had huge issues even from launch. Then the lawsuit came , then the Dev that banned a person because his family member told him, then them not banning hackers. It was a PR hell and people stopped playing it.

I actually agree with everything you said. :) The potential for F13 was far better than TCSM (which i also enjoy btw!) minus all the drama, PR, bugs, lawsuits, hacking... Wish the devs used that same F13 gameplay model and incorporated it in texas chainsaw. We only have Killer Klowns (same dev who made F13) to carry the torch.

To be fair, Evolve actually put 4v1s on the map in 2015, something most don't realize. The irony is people cancelled Evolve when even in it's abandoned state 8 years later is far higher quality and better as an experience than DBD is with 7 years of content updates.

DBD is trash that has ruined this genre by lowering everyone's standards. This Genre could've been so much more if Evolve got the traction it deserved.

Speaking of backwards...

F13 release date: 5/26/17
DbD release date: 6/14/16

EDIT:
Or hell, if you even want to go further:
Evolve release date: 2/10/15

F13 hardly started the genre.

DBD did not set the stage in my opinion, i am well aware when it was released. Trash game, trash model.
Ragnar Aug 22, 2023 @ 9:04am
but the thing is DBD created this genre, if it wasnt for DBD there would be no TCM, F13, Evil Dead and ect.
These games got developed because of how successful DBD turned out to be.

Wrong. Evolve did.

You can choose which game is the best/worst model all you want, that's fine. As you said, that's your opinion. But don't make claims that a specific game "started a genre" when the facts clearly show it didn't.

Wrong DBD was already in development when Evolve came out plus Evolve wasnt successful enough to encourage other devs to make other similar games, DBD was and did.
DBD is the reason TCM exists whether you like it or not.

Huh, so if DbD was in development when Evolve came out... wouldn't that mean Evolve was in development before DbD was? It's funny how time works that way.

DbD was the first massively successful asymm game, sure, and influences other games. But again, was not the first game for the genre as a whole, thus didn't define or start it.

Or let me guess, you're also one of those that think World of Warcraft was the first MMORPG as well?

Created the genre as in successful enough to bring the genre into spotlight otherwise the genre existed before DBD but nobody cared about it.
Most people havent even heard of evolve because the time it came out DBD didnt exist but look at TCM its getting lots of players because of DBD.

Evolve released February 10, 2015, which started the asymmetric horror genre, 100% not DBD. Friday the 13th was in development in early 2015 over a year prior to the release of DBD (May 2016), So not true that DBD started anything, nor did it influence F13... Totally separate game play style.

forgetting that when DBD launched most people didnt even know what an asym game is.
but at TCM launch many people love asym because of DBD.
