Fully Upgraded Cook is scary powerful
EDIT: Just had a good match with a big streamer that showcases how OP cook on comms can be:

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1905128947?t=02h34m49s

On day 2 of the release, I managed to fully upgrade Cook and get his main ability to tier 3. It completely stomps victim teams.

-------
RADAR
-------

So for those who don't know, cook gets an upgrade that allows his ability to highlight a victim to the entire team on someone who isn't standing still.

This ability STACKS!!! Each time a tick of your power goes off on an enemy character, it adds 5 seconds of reveal. If a survivor is jogging in the basement, you can keep stacking "ticks" of reveal and show their aura to your team for an entire 60+ seconds even after you're finished using your ability power.

-------------
LOCKDOWN
-------------

Gas station and slaughterhouse have 4 doors in the main area to escape. As cook, you can padlock 3 of them and camp the 4th exit that isn't padlocked. While camping this 4th exit, you just act as a radar for the rest of your team through your power.

Through the family focus ability, you can actually see your padlocks. If you notice one missing, you know that the victims have gone through this exit without having to manually walk up to it to check if its locked.

-------------
GRANDPA
-------------

Its also easy to stack 50 pts into blood harvesting. On a map like house, you can easily get T2 sonar before survivors have left the basement (if they aren't doing a full rush). With the bucket perk upgrade, you get 42 per blood bucket. You just simply alternate between gathering and using your radar power.

--------------

Cook's has trouble chasing victims; however, this is counter-acted with the "scout" perk which lets you run 15% faster. Its possible to get the scout ability and the extra blood gathered ability simultaneously on the skill tree.

-----

Cook is a painful grind, but once fully leveled with tens of thousands of experience points, he is insanely powerful and outright wins games.

Cook is the strongest character I've always said this.

nice!

A lot of survivors don't try to adjust their playstyle to stealth when they see cook. Connie's just continue to try and rush, get revealed for minutes by stacking my power on her, and end up being sacrificed early on in the game.

-----

Even if they play stealth, your ability works in special cases. For example someone climbing a ladder can still be revealed. Its easy to get 2-3 stacks as they climb up and allow your team to ambush them.

A lot of it has to do with first impressions when people don't have ability upgrades or certain upgraded perk combos.

Without some stamina stats or perks invested beforehand, most people's first impressions of cook is being out-run by fully upgraded survivors.

This changes if you tough out the initially painful grind and upgrade him.

Cooks basically grandpa on steroids, just need to have a team which listens to callouts.
I like detecting victims and then hiding around the corner.

While leveling him up, initially, I would use a full savagery build and do exactly that. Made him bearable to play in the "early" stages when he didn't have his upgrades for aura radar and scout speed.

I'm slowly realizing that aggressive victims are going to be the way to go. Just had an entire team play as loud as possible, kept going for stuns and incapping grandpa and it was infuriating for the whole team. They all died still, but jesus christ it took me 10+ hits with bubba to kill leland.

Once victims stop acting like victims it's over. We knew where they all were and it still didn't matter.

I had a whole group rush together for the back gate and we got kills pretty fast.

If a Sissy was in your group then I have no respect for that. We were Hitch and Cook and it was a miserable experience dealing with constant stuns and infinites in the basement/around certain parts of the map.

We still got them all but it wasn't fun. Much like how DbD is most of the time where winning isn't fun. I don't think this game is gonna last long anymore, because once people get better, it's going to be really annoying as family and victim maybe depending on who you're up against.

I feel bad for anyone playing the game for the first time right now. They're going to get ♥♥♥♥ on and leave instantly.

This lot I didn't even see in the basement they were clearly out in the open one was right on the exit gate while another was trying to turn off the power from the car battery and all 4 were out in the open like we literally chased them there as they all ran that way all 4 came up the same way from the basement and made a line together to go that way so it was pretty easy to catch them.

He's really good at map control and finding victims, but his chase is absolute garbage.

They didn't sound like good players then. Just wait until you come up against experienced victims that constantly go for stuns while one or two of them focuses on objectives. It's going to get stale really quick.

Cook is insanely good and underrated. Especially on Family House.
I think most people are just attracted to LF, Sissy and Hitchhiker cause they want to be able to chase but Cook is definitely that person that just provides invaluable info to their team while also securing the property more.
