Even if they play stealth, your ability works in special cases. For example someone climbing a ladder can still be revealed. Its easy to get 2-3 stacks as they climb up and allow your team to ambush them.
everyone sleepin' on the Cook
A lot of it has to do with first impressions when people don't have ability upgrades or certain upgraded perk combos.
Without some stamina stats or perks invested beforehand, most people's first impressions of cook is being out-run by fully upgraded survivors.
This changes if you tough out the initially painful grind and upgrade him.
I like detecting victims and then hiding around the corner.
While leveling him up, initially, I would use a full savagery build and do exactly that. Made him bearable to play in the "early" stages when he didn't have his upgrades for aura radar and scout speed.
Once victims stop acting like victims it's over. We knew where they all were and it still didn't matter.
I had a whole group rush together for the back gate and we got kills pretty fast.
We still got them all but it wasn't fun. Much like how DbD is most of the time where winning isn't fun. I don't think this game is gonna last long anymore, because once people get better, it's going to be really annoying as family and victim maybe depending on who you're up against.
I feel bad for anyone playing the game for the first time right now. They're going to get ♥♥♥♥ on and leave instantly.
This lot I didn't even see in the basement they were clearly out in the open one was right on the exit gate while another was trying to turn off the power from the car battery and all 4 were out in the open like we literally chased them there as they all ran that way all 4 came up the same way from the basement and made a line together to go that way so it was pretty easy to catch them.
I think most people are just attracted to LF, Sissy and Hitchhiker cause they want to be able to chase but Cook is definitely that person that just provides invaluable info to their team while also securing the property more.
