How to set microphone?

People keep saying I'm mic spamming but for some reason the game doesn't let me set my microphone input. This doesn't happen for Discord voice calls or League of Legends.. How do I lower microphone sensitivity or even switch it?

For some reason the game is picking up something on my microphone that should not be making noise. It also doesn't help since the game keeps showing me as talking when I'm not. Pretty important in a stealth game.

Supposedly it uses the default Windows settings but on my setup it ignores what I set and selects my headset mic which I do not use at all instead of my external mic.
