What's the point of the perk tree?
I'm really confused as to why they designed the perk tree the way it is.

They give us 5 load out slots, yet, even when you level a character to 10 it's impossible to effectively fill 5 load out slots with distinctive builds because of the limited number of perks you can use. Sure, you can fill it with a bunch of random builds but what's the point in that.

So you re-spec to try a different build, usually multiple times hoping you get suitable *random* perks, all the meanwhile losing your previously owned perks/load outs. So if you want to go back to old builds you have repeat the process and re-spec over and over until you eventually get your wanted perks back.

Like.... what's the point in that? lmao.

Why not just allow us to pump skill points into a character to eventually unlock all perks, and hence, be able to try out lots of builds?

Am I the only one that just thinks this is completely bizarre?

It's because you also unlock attribute points, you could max like 3 attributes if you could get the whole tree done it's part of the strategy of leveling up characters where some paths might have some good perks but less points and some more average perks and more points

Hmm I suppose so - Could always limit the number of attribute perks you can use together, and cap the number of attribute points you can use (stronger perks give less attribute points for example). I just think having to re-spec and lose everything anytime you want to switch it up is a bit of a faff, particularly with the random perks.

It also limits the perks based on the direction you go, since the perks that are "random" are only from a tree that is not your own, so there's more than just attribute points to be limited
As far as testing other builds, that's what the free respec is for, consider the tree has the layout it does with the purpose to stop you from stacking certain perks that may be too powerful together^^
